i think they drink more soda in the US. in most restaurants they give a juice or agua panela, a soda would not be common. in a club water or lemonade are normal drinks to order. only at parque de la caña (cali) is where i have seen people order 2.5 liter sodas

Not trying to argue, but I had a different experience(s) in Colombia. Yes, gaseosa is served a lot, but the Colombians I was around drank it in small quantities. I got strange looks all the time when ordering a 3rd or 4th bottle of Postobon Manzana for myself, while my ex and her 6 other family members that were with us, were still nursing their first.

Why would a restaurant give you a strange look for ordering water? They always have bottled water, with and without bubbles. I suppose a nightclub might be different though.

I would kill for some Postobon manzana right now. I don't think it is sold north of Orlando, or outside of the greater NYC area. It certainly is not available where I am at. Maybe I should talk to my local Publix manager.

It is here in Miami.. I like the Manzana but I like it out of the fountain from CineColombia and I think its made by Coke.. im not big on the bottle stuff. I find it quite flat..

monita linda, i didnt say people dont drink soda in Colombia, only that i see it drank more in the US. i was referring that people order the 2.5 liter bottles at clubs not so much but more water or lemonade. thats what we always did. i would drink soda when i would buy an empanada in the street and need soda to wash it down. but in restaurants people mostly drink the juice or agua panela which comes with the lunch and not order a soda unless you are at a Simon Parrilla style restaurant or eating ´fast food´ in the street which would only sell sodas

"I think Colombians drink too much sodas, my son says that whith so may delicious juices in Colombia he can't understand why people drink sodas even worst why they drink Coca cola."

Wow, and from a REAL Colombiana... I thought I was going to get toasted for this one.. My ex girl from Cali will never drink water..she despises it.. Only soda and juices.. and thats it.. very strange..

Postobon is Postobon - it is not owned by Coca Cola. Postobon does bottle other brands, like Hit, Colombiana, and Brita.

I am right with you RJ. I did not find the Gaseosa intake all that bad. Like RAAAY was saying they drank alot in Colombia. Compared to other places I have been I just didn't see that it was abnormal.
Now complain about their Stomach belly achin???? Yes, seems all colombianos have some sort of gastro-intestinal figment of some thing or utter!

PCL I also think that people drink way too much soda. I agree that the natural fruit juices are popular but usually with el almuerzo. When it comes to just having a drink because of thirst - and with Cali's heat you're always thirsty - people want soda and only soda. Very weird.

Sorry, I have to disagree. Hardly anyone I know here drinks soda. Robert_jorge, I live about 10 minutes from Postobon. I can buy a litro for 1.700 mil pesos. I could not resist, I had to rub it in.

I see more juice (Oh yeah lulo) than soda at the dinner table when down there, but I loves me my postobon.

Philly, I used to live even closer when I was in Villavicencio. My apartment complex literally bordered the Coke bottler and was a 5 minute stroll on the same street to Postobon. I found the prices at either bottler, (at their kiosk / window out front), were the same as any tienda.

Esanch/PCL ... how about eating the birthday cake before the food? That I never understood. Recently we had a little birthday for my mother. The meal was tamales, and when we cut the cake and served it with coffee after the food I (like it should be! LOL) I got some strange looks. Someone actually said, "Cake with COFFEE????" It was kind of funny.

I got my liqour store connection to carry Aguila. It shouldn't be too hard to get my Publix source to order some Postobon manzana. And to those of you who live in a big town who can buy Postobon at will - Fyou. I am jealous. jajaja
