Two soldiers killed on the main road from Rio Negro to Medellin?

I just heard about this on another site. Can anyone confirm and/or elaborate?

Yeah...uh...wow....

Rio Negro is 45 mintues outside of Medellin. It is where the international airport for Medellin is located.

Uribe's vacation house is somewhere between Medellin and Rio Negro. So, you'll always see soldiers hanging out on the highway. When he is coming or there, you'll see a solider every km of the way.

Just because you have been to Colombia, that does NOT mean that you are anywhere near an expert on the place. Sorry. Truth hurts.

Totally unrelated I would guess but Tuesday at about 2PM on the road from Rio Negro to Medellin via Las Palmas I saw one dead moto policia. I know he was dead because he was wrapped around one of those cement light poles. On the surface it looks like he lost control. There were probably 20 policia and 10 transito at the scene. Its only the 3rd dead body on the road in just over a month. I am pretty convinced that the real risk in Colombia is on the road.

it's rionegro...........and president uribe's house in tablaso isn't a vacation home....it's home. also, pastrana was from there and pablo e. also. it's a beautiful little pueblecito. very small, but great homes. it's where the power brokers of either side of the fence hail from. my bar was about 3 miles (towards don diego) from the tablaso exit off the llanogrande/rionegro rd.

i certainly haven't seen a lot of colombia, just basically around antioquia and a lot there. but llanogrande is the best i've seen, anywhere. and it's not just the real estate and campo, it's the people.....well educated, travelled, tranquil, and hospitable. not like the priviledged in poblado who use their noses like a boat's sail mast....always up in the air. and have an attitude like their poo don't stink. not so with those llaneros. simply the best. they all hang out in gualanday, which like el campo and the gente, is the best centro comercio i've ever seen. it's about a quarter mile before confama's tutucan on the opposite side of the road.
