Now that the K-1 and the K-3 visa's are now getting under control, what is the turn around time for the green cards to be issued once applied for?

Sonny says on Aug 25, 2005, 18:14: kernow62 I hope that things will settle down now. I heard that it is as you said. anywhere from 1 month to a year and a half. How does it affect the travel should the need to go back to Colombia prior to that time occure? Ememgencies etc;.??

kernow62 says on Aug 26, 2005, 04:32: Well for me I put all travel plans on hold just to be safe, they do however stamp your pasport with a temporary clearance that amounts to a greencard. This was good for 6 months I believe, and then I had to go and sit half a day and get another stamp. I suppose I would have been OK to travel, but I didn't want to take chances. Also the greencards are much more expensive but this is because of increased security features I am told.
