viewpoint says on Jul 12, 2004, 13:50: tourist visa If she is young and single it's almost impossible to get a tourist visa male or female. There's nothing that you can do to help her (except marry her). The interview would be months away and the odds are 95% or higher she would be turned down. She would improve her chances if she has a significant presence (money, real estate, marriage, children, long term employment and older age) in Colombia. In 1996 the immigration laws changed and every applicant is viewed as a potential immigrant to the USA (overstay the tourist visa). The difference is that if she was Panamanian she would be on an airplane next week to the USA (more than likely). "Visa denied" is a widely spoken term at the US Embassy in Bogota.
