Turibus Medellin

I just looked at my Multimapa from a year and half ago and saw this small advertisement for a trolley style Turibus around Medellin. Is this still in operation?

Most places you can get to on your own piecemeal however this tour looks like it has the advantage of covering a lot of area in a smaller amount of time.

Has anyone taken it?

Yea, it's still in operation. I took the tour as part of an english class and they give you a lot of interesting history about places. The bus doesn't stop everywhere and when it does usually not for very long but I definatly recommend the tour. Also the guide spoke in english the entire time.

Turibus contact # 371 5054

For a more private tour guide who speaks fluent ingles and has a new car with A/C contact Juan M. Uribe, (cell) 311 333 9874

He is a great guide who has lived in the US for 30 years before returning to his hometown of Medellin. He showed me parts of Medellin that were not on the gringo radar, yet.

When I first met him I mentioned to him that the 30 years in the US made him look more American than Paisa. He smiled.

If you use him tell him Medellin Traveler website referred you to his services for a discounted rate.

Have FUN!!

I would recommend the tour. It goes places in a short time and for little money. But DO NOT get the video. A photographer offers a CD with photos of you and a video of Medellin but the photos suck and the video just has too many pictures of the X-mas decorations in Medellin.

You can get the bus in Parque de El Poblado at 9 AM or 1 PM. Try to get there a bit earlier, it is often full.
