So much for the "official" ATM rates....i withdraw money via ATMs several times a week and RARELY does the actual rate which shows up on my online account minutes later match the official ATM rate. i have even taken out money in the morning and an hour or so later again, and the two rates are different. i only use Bancolombia in Cartagena.

There seems to be a lot of variances. I only use Davavienda and I can go home instantly to check the rate that I got instantly. In my case it is usually pretty close to the rate published by the central bank. I have a Visa debit card with a very large credit union.

The receipt that I receive from the ATM machine does not show a balance. I thought that was pretty standard. Not too long ago I was talking to a friend of mine and he said his receipt shows a balance. We have both lived here several years. I prefer no balance to show on the receipt. I know 3 personal friends that have be robbed by the " paseo millionario " method. If it happened to me I wouldn't want the theives to see a receipt with the balance on it, they might hold on to me longer.

Holidays and weekends it does remain constant, whatever rate it is..i agree...my bancolombia receipts only show the withdrawal amount.....with all the zeros in colombian currency i dont think the atm receipt is wide enough to show US balances...jajaj..
