Trip to Leticia

I'm planning a trip to Leticia for the first week in July, and I'm looking for some advice on what to see and do. I currently live in Bogota, and I'm planning on grabbing a return flight from here - but other than that I'm completely open, including sleeping arrangements. I've seen a couple of tours, but none really interested me - too rigid. Any suggestions?

Ideas Brad,

I suggest either staying at the Colombian national park called Amacayacu which is a 4 hour boat ride up the Amazon from Leticia, or going to a reserve in Brazil called Palmari.

You can sleep in firm beds or in hammacks at Amacayacu for about $20,000 per night and they supply meals for between $3000 and $6000. Contact the national park office in Bogota for more info.

Most people who go to the Amazon do day trips from Leticia, but to really experience the jungle there is nothing like staying at Amacayacu.

Good idea, wangaza
I am also interested in a trip to Leticia this summer or the next. I thought I only have the possibility of Hotel Anaconda, hire a turist guide...to have contact with the real jungle withouth been alone with my family...but..thanks, there is this park Amacayacu wich allows visitors in its "center for visitor Yewaé" next to the Amazonas River. here is the link:

Màs fe, màs abrazos, màs besos, màs disculpas, màs visitas a nuestros amigos antiguos nos haràn màs plenos cada vez.
