Travelling with very young children (2 yrs & 2 months) to Providencia

and would like to know if anyone can recommend any of the hotels on the Island? I have heard that Miss Mary's is good, however, it does not have a microwave and this is a requirement for us. Any suggestions? Also are the mosquitos the malaria carrying type?

Sol Caribe Providencia The only one I've stayed, and it was pretty good. I don't think it had a microwave in the room, but their restaurant is right outside your room, and I'm sure they will heat your stuff for you np. Never heard anything about malaria in Providencia.

Sol Caribe 2 I stayed there too - I'm sure they have a microwave in the kitchen.

Providencia is paradise, but I'm not sure how well a 2-year old would enjoy it! There aren't exactly many adventure playgrounds...

be prepared for heat... now is the hot season, and it can rain too.
suggest you arrive and take a drive through southwest bay and freshwater bay,.... you can inspect, and negotiate, at the hotels on the way, your kids will be treated like angels everywhere, and the whole place is an adventure playground, although, oldbongo definately recommends you do not take them on a hike through the bush. more like hanging out at the beach, eating mangos.
make sure to spend some time on the windward side, just looking at the reef, that's what providence is all about,..... the sea.
and, maybe when you are circling the island, you can stop at rocky point, and pay a visit to a couple of oldbongos heros.
good luck.

Hotels Decameron now deals with most of the hotels' bookings - they will not let you simply show up and rent a room, it has to be organised on the mainland first.

travel agencies
hello, I would like to book a vacation in providencia, but i wonder which travel agencies are there in Colombia to organize the trip (to do it on my own would be much more expensive), do you have any suggestions of relyable T.A, I can contact through the internet?
thank you!

you will find none... your best plan is to book your own tickets, arrive, and stay where you like. it is cheaper and more flexible.
