Travelling to Bogota on Business

Hi

I am supposed to be traveling to Bogota on business and the company is supposed to arrange everything for me including pickups at airport etc.

I was just wondering if anyone could give me information on the cost of living in Bogota compared with the UK so i know how much to budget on spending.

Also if anyone has any ideas of fun things for a single guy to do during the evening then please let me know.

Hope someone can help.

Comparison with London For the price of the London Congestion charge you buy a bottle of rum in a nice nightclub in Zona Rosa Bogota.

For the price of a coffee in Starbucks Victoria street you get yourself a taxi from the airport to centre of town.

For the price of a London Parking fine (50 GBP) you stay in a top
5 star hotel in Bogota.

For the price of one packet of cigarettes in the UK you buy a whole
carton of 200 in Colombia

Prices in Colombia are substantial lower then the UK. Advising you on a budget is not possible because i do not know your expectations and requirements. Do you eat in a snackbar or a michelin star restaurant. Do you take the bus or a chaufeured limousine.

If you need any more information please send me an email

Not expensive at all... My boyfriend is from U.K., he loves to come to Bogota because everything is really cheap.

A nice 5 stars hotel can cost you about 40 pounds, a nice dinner for two in a fancy restaurant with alcohol and three courses about 40 pounds, take a taxi from the north side of the city to down town no more than 5 pounds, if you like massages, facials and manicure and pedicure 20pounds... (all together). Go to see a movie about 3 pounds.

You will find British people at the pubs in La Zona Rosa (BBC, Palos de Moger or "the Pub" are the most popular for them). You can find almost anything you want in Bogota, it depends what you like.

I hope you have a nice. Have fun!!!

cost of living A normal lunch could cost between 2 dollars (cheap) to 10 dollars in a good restaurant
(even more depending what you want). A cinema ticket cost 4 dollars average. Bus ticket cost around 50 us cents. A magazine could cost 2 to 8 dollars. A 1-minute cell phone call cost 10 to 15 us cents. I hope this info its enough for you!
I recommend this hotel:

There are fun things to do for a single guy at the "Zona Rosa" in Bogota, there you can find "Palos de Moguer", "Bogota Beer Company and other several pubs, restaurants and party places, or you can go to "parque de la 93", another good place to go to!
