Traveling with Grandmother. Can't walk far. Seeking Medellin Hotel with Shopping Inside Hotel

Hi. Just signed up! Thanks for allowing new members again. I have been waiting quietly in the wings.

I'm looking for a Hotel in Medellin with shops inside the hotel.

My grandmother is coming along for the trip with the family. She pretty much likes to just stay in the hotel and maybe go downstairs for shopping (not outside). Don't ask. Just her thing.

Do any Hotels in Medellin have shopping inside the hotel?

Cost not an issue. Shopping inside the hotel is!... (apparantly, so my wife has threatened no sex for a year if I don't deliver shopping for dear old grandma)!

the sheraton has a big supermarket just outside the front door (pomona)and it is also adjacent to one of the most popular shopping malls, oviedo

Holiday Inn on Poblado Ave is in a shopping centre. Not the best one, but also has a casino to throw away the hours and some good restaurants.

There is also an upmarket hotel right across from Oveido. She would have to walk across the road though Palmona and then up some excalators - its around the corner from the Sheraton.

i'd suggest the hotel intercontinental for all around convenience and enjoyment.

then there's the nutibara downtown where all manor of shopping is right outside the doors in every direction...shops, museums, restaurants. it's just not as ambient as the hotel inter, as it's in D0WN town

know what you mean, tom tom....but directly across the street on two sides are some very nice shops...shoes, leather goods, etc. i can't imagine the abuela walking around alone. but a block away from oviedo is a wonderful hotel for that area...aint the inter, but it's good, and one can hop a taxi for those blocks and grandma can shop her heart out in oviedo.

Agree with Four Points Sheraton. Sheraton is appended to the upscale Oviedo Mall. The Intercontinental mentioned is up on a hill and would require you to drive down the hill to the San Diego mall.

My pick would be the Four Points Sheraton but the San Fernando Plaza Hotel, the Holiday Inn Express, Affinity, Novelty Suites and the Poblado Plaza are also good options on The Golden Mile. Check the rates. Not long ago the Poblado Plaza and the Holiday Inn Express had the best prices.

By the way, the Poblado Plaza is also next to Oviedo shopping Center on the other side, one block from La Strada mall and two blocks from San Fernando Plaza. And there would be no hills to worry about.
