Hi All!
I need some words of wisdom from someone who has been there , done that. I'm visiting Medellin next month and I'm wondering about how much and what form of money I should have when I land at the airport. Are traveler's checks a good idea or should I stick to the ATM's? How many U.S. dollars should I bring to start my two week stay? I have accomodations arranged so I won't need a hotel.
Thanks for the help!

ATMs are great - the only limit is some local ATMs will only let you withdraw 300,000 or 400,000 per day (so plan to go to ATMs more often.) ATM charges are based on your banks agreements etc. my bank charged me nothing and gave me a great exchange rate. I will say - leave your cash here and take your ATMs.
