Does anyone know what countries Colombians can travel to without the need for visas??? I want to take my fiance away for a week to either Caribbean, Central America, or another country in South America. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, need a nice restaurant in Cali that I can take about 12 people to, preferably colombian food for a celebration.
This website has been great and I thank all of you who constantly answer these forums for all your help.

There are some good steakhouses too, like El Rancho de Jonás North and South, another one, newer, I forgot the name but they have a steakhouse in the north and another one in the south. These steakhouses have both international and Colombian food in the menu. Cali Viejo is classier, though, and very suitable for a dinner party celebration. I haven't been there for a year and a half now, which means that some info might be slightly outdated, but I'm sure Cali Viejo is still there, has always been, and the last I visited it with some friends it looed very nice and the food is 100% authentic Cali cuisine. ari says on Sep 16, 2004, 12:33: I think besides most Latin American countries there are not many places where you can go with a Colombian passport, not long ago they started requesting visas also for the Netherlands antilles. Israel seems to be the only country in the West that allows Colombians to entry on a 3-month visa only with the passport and a return ticket, as a curious fact I can say most Colombian Jews hold double passport but they enter Israel (when they immigrate) on their Colombian passports so that they can get a double benefits package that immigrants from rich countries don't get. Still Colombia voted against Israel not long ago in the UN and big political mess, so it seems next year they'll make a few reforms on visas to Latin Americans. http://ikcenda.tripod.com/philologist 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

juanalejo says on Sep 16, 2004, 18:36: Venezuela signed about 5 years ago together with all the Andean nations for all Andean nationals travelling within the Andean countries only needing the respective national cedula and no need for passport. Unfortunatelly Venezuela has ignored the agreement and still requires not only passport but also visa for all other Andean countries. Hong Kong and Barbados did not require a visa for Colombian nationals last time I checked.

Gator says on Sep 16, 2004, 20:03: A couple of reataurants and Countries that DO NOT require a visa Cali Viejo just a short way from the zoo is very good and is the old established restaurant try the Sancocho de Gallina. If you want to enjoy a good meal go to Los Girasoles on Av 6N about Cl 35 or to enjoy typical Colombian food at Casa Juanchos. Lots of good restaurants up on the Via Al Mar(route to the Pacific Coast)nice and cool but crowded on the weekends-the Embajada de Ginebra. Take a ride up to Girardot between Palmira and Buga and go to one of the fincas that are now restuarants and have the BEST sancocho in Colombia. gato-bandido says on Sep 17, 2004, 07:09: travel Barbados used to not require a visa, and that's why we got married and spent our honeymoon there, but unfortunately it seems that has changed since... St. Vincent and Grenadines, St. Kitts and Nevis, and Trinidad and Tobago are all nice places in the Caribbean though. Call their respective US consulates to make sure they are still on the list. Chile or Argentina or even Brazil would be fun too. Also you can query the TIMATIC database, for example here or here. As far as I understand this is what airlines look at before allowing you to board a plane, so it should always be up to date.

gato-bandido says on Sep 17, 2004, 07:24: my bad Sorry, the timaticweb page requires a stupid login. The Delta one doesn't, but won't work in FireFox. This one is good though. It says Barbados, St. Vincent and Grenadines, St. Kitts and Nevis, and Trinidad and Tobago all don't require a visa for Colombians.

And where the hell is Costa Rica, anyway? over 5 million colombianos in USA and only 27 barranquilleros, i'm one. CURRAMBA, EL MEJOR VIVIDERO DEL MUNDO! 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
