Travel to San Andres - Advice Needed

My new Colombian wife and I have decided we would like to vacation in San Andres this year. My biggest issue, of course, is finding a nice place to say. The most important factors are proximity to a nice beach and to places to eat.

I will be bringing my wife and my 10 year old step-daughter, so a hotel would be fine, but a two bedroom apartment would be optimal (since we are still newlyweds).

Any advice on accommodations, activities, restaraunts, entertainment, etc. would be great. Maybe someone will great a travel guide to San Andres at some point.

San Andres Griz, Go to MSN.com and search San Andres Island. Look for Big Juice's San Andres Island. You will find all you need there. I've spent hours looking at info and photos that are posted there. Have a great time there. My girlfriend and I are planning to be married there. Shifty

Sun Rise I stayed at the Sun Rise which is a 5 star hotel on the island. I would reccomend this hotel as you can also get a package which includes meals in the hotel dining room.

San Anderes Check with a travel agent about a package deal including air fare. Off season, you will be supprised how low the cost is off season. Boatygringo

Aquarium Hotel Don't stay at the Aquarium hotel. The rooms are crap. The service is TERRIBLE. The food gave me food poisoning.

Caribe Campo I stayed at the Caribe Campo last year, all the other decent hotels were fully booked. It has nice grounds with a swimming pool and playground and the food is quite nice, and there is a private beach about 10 minutes walk away. You can also rent a jeep and drive round the island, no driving licence needed.
However it is not perfect. Although we were on a package with free drinks included, the service is so slow that I never seeemed to get very many. You are supposed to be able to book to eat at whichever restaurant in the hotel you like, but they seem to lose the bookings when it suits. And when we first arrived they gave us a very dirty room, although when we complained they quickly changed it for a clean one.
