Travel to Bogota

I am going to Bogota for the first time, this spring.. Any hints on airlines, (price, routes etc). how much cash for 10 days, staying in nice hotels and a few nights of entertaining, would be reasonable to take, ( are ATMs accessible??)

Thanks!

Where are you located? US? Canada? Europe? depending on that you can fly to Bogota from 7 US cities and most large european capitals, from Canada non-stop only with AirCanada.

Where to stay? you're looking for a nice hotel close to a nice entertaining area, I'd suggest Radisson, Dann Carlton 100 (there are several so be sure to specify that one), Cosmos 100, Bogota Plaza.

Good partying areas with clubs and restaurants: Parque 93 and Zona Rosa (around Andino Mall).

Don't bring much cash, instead bring your credit cards and debit card, there are ATMs everywhere but for added security use only those located inside Malls or supermarkets. Be sure to tell you bank you'll be travelling so they don't block your card.

No US dollars, just credit and debit cards. As was previously mentioned, make SURE you call your bank/credit card company to let them know where you will be and for what dates!

Another random tip: make sure you keep the luggage sticker(s) you are given at your original city of departure handy once you arrive. They actually check for those stickers (to match the tag on your luggage) in Colombia.
