Travel Insurance - British travellers help please!

Question for British travellers -

Does anyone know of any UK travel insurance that covers you even if you go to areas which the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office advise not to travel to and that also cover against acts done by terrorist organisations?

Trailfinders covers against terrorist acts but not travel against FCO advice.

STA doesn't even cover terrorist acts.

Thanks!

Do the FCO advise against going to Colombia? I'm not really that bothered , I've got mine with Trailfinders thats good enough for me.
It seems quite good, the deal with Trailfinders, they are well established and wouldn't be selling insurance if it wasn't any use.

Trailfinders Hi MacGringo, que mas?!

The FCO don't advise against travel to Colombia. They advise against travel to rural areas of Antioquia, meta, Cauca, norte de Santander etc etc - long list and to San Agustin and the Ciudad Perdida in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. By the way if you have been to either of these places I would welcome any info you have.

The reason I ask is that I would like to go to these places but while I realise there is a risk (although FCO are obviously not the people with the best information) I would like to get some money back if anything happens and I can't find any insurance that covers areas that FCO advise against.

By the way - I agree that Trailfinders is the best travel insurance I have come across.

Cheers McGri!

Yes - most insurance that I have come across you can only start from UK pre-departure. This is a problem...

Maybe you can get something online.
