Travel HELP, I need to save money on airfare!

What should I do? I've explored all the options that have been posted on here before and I can't find anything for less than $845.

Round-Trip:

From NYC -
To Pereira.

Leaving on 8/10/05 or anytime after -
Returning on 9/03/05 or anytime before.

For:
1 adult, &
1 child (10 years-old).

Does anyone have any advice?

LACSA... has a flight in your time-frame from Miami to Bogotá for $406 USD including taxes. Also has a free stopover in San José CR, You should be able to grab a flight from NYC to Miami for less than $150 USD If you really wanted to save some buck take the bus-safe and some great looks at the Colombian countryside-draw back about 8 hours.
you could book onto AeroRepública or Aries for an internal flight.

Always call Avianca because they run many specials some of which are not on their web site.

Good luck and enjoy the trip.

You should be able to do a lot better than that Go to the airline sites directly. You're not going to get from the US to Colombia for much less than $650, normally. Avianca is probably your best bet for NYC to pereira because otherwise you're involving 2 airlines in the deal instead of just one.

For the Heck of It... I called Avianca in Bogotá early this afternoon. From New Yory City (JFK) to Pereira economy class one adult on the days you mentioned was $2.410.500.00 COP ($1053.00 USD)including taxes.

Keep looking-as I said best bet probable NYC to MIA then to Colombia. Miami to Pereira on the dates you want was $1.254.000.00 COP ($526 USD)including taxes.

Great travel advice Thanks to all of you for your help.

I think that I have found the best deal through travelocity.com on Avianca. Leaving August 10, 2005 and returning August 31, 2005.

Adult $ 781.00
Child $ 412.00
Taxes $ 109.10
Fees $ 10.00
Total $1312.10

This is the best deal so far!
My Aunt is not an experieced traveler so I would like to keep her with the same airline on the entire trip.

Thanks again!

Which airlines? I've been considering the trip if its affordable and if I go with my aunt and cousin then I could split up the airline companies if need be to save $$. Which airlines are you using and how did you go about finding the pricing?
