Travel Channel Goes to Colombia

My favorite show finally goes to Colombia.
Anthony Bourdain from "no reservations" visits Cartagena and Medellin..
Download it from itunes if you don't have the travel channel.

I think the show was a dud! no offense, but all the guy does is eat. He didn't even go to Bogota! He hardly showed what Colombia has to offer. Not that I'm mad, better kept a secret but doesn't do such a beautiful country justice! I guess it did have a few good shots, just not as good as I hoped.

Since he is a chef and food writer and the show is supposed to be about street food, what were you expecting, rock climbing? I think Samantha Brown's show is more what you are thinking of.

his show has been on for about 5 years now, he has about 50 episodes from all over the world and ive been waiting so long for this episode from Colombia, overall i think he did a wonderful job showing the beauty of the local people/food/streets

i read they shoot for about 1 week, so im sure he could have gone to many other places, i guess you can only do so much in a weeks budget..

seeing those empanadas brought back some good memories, the one thing i did bring back with me on the plane...i even saved the greasy paper bag the store provided as a souveniers :)

my girlfiends grandmother is paisa and she made us all bandeja paisa as my first meal when i visted them, was amazing, here is a photo i took before we all sat down to eat.

e best time i spend there was in yanaconas, making love in the pool under a blue moon...i remember looking back towards the sky, life was almost still...everything was perfect, i had a case of poker in the cooler, my woman so close to me...and some left over tostones in the bag....and a shot of aguardiente in the other hand...plan to go back but this time to medellin...entonces que..

"No Reservations" was about Cartgena and Medellín, it wasn't about the entire country. And yes, the show is pretty much about regional cuisine found in different cities all over the world. Pretty much "what does your average person eat here?" type of thing.
