travel advisory - dec 22

The US State Dept issued a travel advisory on Dec 22 against travelling to Bogota. It is available on line. Google "travel advisory colombia" to read it.

I couldn't find anything either The website says that the 4 May 2005 Travel Warning was still current. But I couldn't find anything new.

I was on the phone to the British Consulate in Colombia on 23 Dec 2005 and spoke to their Security Officer (I am taking my parents on a trip to meet their in-laws after Christmas and wanted to check a few things). He didn't mention any specific incidents in Bogota. Also I have been keeping one eye on the El Tiempo website recently and haven't seen anything.
