Transporting excess luggage Bogota to Medellin

Since we are flying with a broken leg we are constrained to Aviancas domestic luggage regulations. Avianca allows 40 lbs only without a surcharge.

Can anyone advise me on an economical means of transporting excess luggage to Medellin from Bogota?

lpdiver The excess luggage costs are not that high, not worth the hassle of messing round with other luggage transport options in my opinion.

Use "De Prisa" This is Avianca's freight service, just take your excess baggage to any De Prisa office and send it to your final destinantion in Colombia. We ship excess luggage frequently from Cali to Santa Marta for about 1000 pesos per kilo.

excess luggage cost three dollars per kilo. That comes to $409.00. I will have 300 pounds excess.

The problem is I have a broken flight. I am flying to Bogota, staying a week then continuing on to Medellin. Avianca will honor Americans baggage allowance if it is a direct flight.
