Trance / Electronic Dance Music

I get into Cali on February 16, 2005 at 8:30 pm and plan un doing a lot of dancing partying and eat good Colombian food. Does anybody know any trance /electronic dance clubs. I need the names and also the areas or address if you know them. I was there for Christmas and New Years but I went to the festivals, concerts and latin dance clubs.

Thank you,

Peter

Man, there´s such a lot of good music in Colombia, who cares for european/american techno or dancemusic? Can´t you get that at home?

latin techno The Latin American market is full of good bands playing techno, alternative, rock and metal. Colombia has great bands and many world-class concerts ... thanks to the weather the big ones are all open air. Most rave parties are open-air as well, in parks or large outside clubs. The Cali es Cali webpage announces larger parties:

Cali Es Cali

Dolfi, Peter asked for Techno ... don't assume it has to European/US. I posted a list here of Colombian rock/metal bands, I am still working on others, including clubs.

If I had to listen to salsa and that kind of music all day I would shoot somebody eventually. Bad enough I have to learn to dance it for my novia. But I am lucky, she is an old hippie like me and privately prefers rock too ... I am saved.

Yes I know, the younger brother of my girlfriend in Medellín also listens to a lot of american/european techno and rockmusic (and asked me to send him some CD´s). But I think it` s strange to look for this kind of stuff down in Colombia where there is a lot of (in my judgement) more interesting music that one can listen to.

Rhythm and harmonies of Salsa are much more complex than the average popmusic.
