Train to Guatavita

I have heard that there is a train to Lake Guatavita (or to the town), but cannot find anything about in on the www. Does anybody know anything specific about if theres is a train, and if so, how to get information about where and when? I want to go on a Sunday but would prefer to sit in a train, even for a few hours, to fighting the traffic back into the city on Sunday afternoon,

as far as i know this is the only train working around here, and it does not go to guatavita but to zipaquira, where the salt cathedral is.

unless ...
two years ago i went there and there was this small "train" wagons in wood pulled by a jeep that brought people from the new lake (not the real indean lake which by the way was closed at that time) to the town, but that s 5 minute ride on a toy train.

Try the Bus My wife and I went to Guativita several yeras ago on a bus from Bogota. We took off in the morning and caught one back to Bogota in the afternoon. It was ridiculaously cheap at the time, somthing like 4 mil pesos each. Nice bus, comfortable, and left the traffic hassles to the driver. I do not remember a train station in Guativita myself. That does not mean ther is not, only that I did not see one or hear a train while there. Guativita is a small place and we walked all over it while there and I did not see one. If you go take a jacket. It is rather high altitue and it was cool with the clouds actually zooming along at ground level at times when we were there. The lake is right there at the town. A cool place, I hope to go back one day. Have fun!
