Hi,
Does customs require a return ticket? I plan on staying for 3 months, but im not sure if i will leave from Bogota, Medellin or Quito, Ecuador. I just have a one way right now to Colombia.
Thanks!!

Gator says on May 11, 2008, 07:45: Usually not-BUT they have done so on occasion. BTW, customs (aduana) has nothing to do with your situation. DAS will be your contact when entering and will make the call. "Brevior Sltare Cum Deformibus Mulieribus Est Vita!" . |

The biggest problem may be from the airline from where you leave - some carriers follow the rule of the law. For other countrie where it ha been needed, i have used a printout booking from a travel agent that I have not paid for to get around the problem.

I had no problem buying the tickets but when I got to the ticket counter in Miami, Avianca wanted to see my visa. They told me that they wouldn't allow me to board without one or a return ticket.

jonas says on May 11, 2008, 13:41: There is a trick: You can buy a full fare return ticket wich is very expensive but you can have it reimbursed once in Colombia (pay with your credit card so the reimbursement comes right back onto that. Just make sure the ticket you buy is fully refundable without any penalties. What I have, I do not want to lose, but Where I am I do not want to stay, but those I love, I do not want to leave, but those I know I no longer want to see, but Where I die, I do not want to go;I want to stay where I have never been |

jonas says on May 11, 2008, 14:02: You could try to buy a multi point ticket. I.e. getting into Bogota, leaving from Lima/Quito/etc. What I have, I do not want to lose, but Where I am I do not want to stay, but those I love, I do not want to leave, but those I know I no longer want to see, but Where I die, I do not want to go;I want to stay where I have never been |

drucifer says on May 11, 2008, 15:04: Thanks, but if i go with my one way and they ask for my return ticket, can i just buy it in the airport? Also, can you get an extension to the 60 day visa?
