Toros en Cali

Am I right in thinking the bullfighting season in Cali only lasts from December to January?

The peak season is December - January in Cali. I was there 2 years ago and it was exciting.
A lot of energy and everyone dressed their best. I'm not sure when there are other expedition bullfights during the year.
Others here will know.......

Are there bullfights in September? I will be in Cali from September 9-14 and would love to see one.

First time I ever noticed the protesters out in full force picketing in front of the stadium that bullfighting was INHUMANE and should be stopped.. I guess a Colombian version on PETA..

The "Fundacion Movimiento Antitaurino y Ecologista de Colombia M.A.C" have an online petition about it.

Kalder.....I believe there is one in July August....the Bulls are there now in the Plaza munching away unaware of their fate...The ticket office is set up in Cosmocentre, so when I see the sell in there,I will let you know. Also have a word with Brit, I do believe he is preforming there this year.

So you are arriving soon? A night for a few bracers must be in order

You're speaking my language my friend! A night (or several) of bracers is most definitely in order. I'll be there in a fortnight.

And thanks for the info about the bulls. I'll PM you.

I'm sorry to hear that Brit has been reduced to tussling with men in shiny tights. Perhaps he finds the stud rights a compensation.

Starts aboiut the end of the Feria de Cali and ends in early February-I don't remember anything in the summer-most of the bullfights in Colombia are during this time.

Dear Kalder,
I´ll be taking part in a novice show during August. Less aggressive bulls, but a horn up the culito hurts whoever it belongs to.
I´ve been practicing my sword thrusts and twirls, and have purchased a special bull aphrodisiac from the local witch down the road. If you´re going out, you may as well go with a bang!

They do have some kids shows and special testimonial fights throughout the year, but I think that they´re few and far between. It´s usually during the feria. I´ll keep an eye out though as I´m a bit partial to the odd bulls ear myself.

Leave the big stick at home...carry a cannon!

Well...

I watched a bullfight on Mexican TV on cable last night.

It was just some ponce in pink trousers sticking swords into a terrified, confused dumb animal.

'Passion...artistry...drama...' In my hole!

You can guess who I was cheering for...
