If you haven't read this book then I really suggest that you do.
Great book about a motorcycle trip through Latin Amercia , it is a true story , this guy got kidnapped by the ELN , and kept going after his release, GREAT adventure book for all who travel and love risk and danger.
Barnes and Noble carries it , or you can buy it online

Lostgringo says on Oct 5, 2007, 14:23: I don't know how true it is but I heard somewhere that this guy is a fraud. That he was NOT kidnapped and made up the story. Have you heard this or is it just loose talk? I don't know, I am just asking the question. Mr. Hollywood says on Oct 5, 2007, 14:33: How does following the Dead mean you know the guy didn't make up the kidnapping? I'm not saying he did, just that it's awfully hard to know from a book.

Grateful Dead says on Oct 5, 2007, 14:36: Adventurers have a language buddy, we can read betwen the lines , we can smell bullshit a mile away, the man speaks the truth , you can also see it in his eyes, if you read the book and you are a rough traveler ( not a tourist ) then you will know.

Gator says on Oct 5, 2007, 14:55: Glen Heggstad aka the Striking Vicing is his name. Had e-mail correspondence when he asked it the trip from Bogotá to Medellin was safe. My advice to him, and others, was NO! Do not make the trip as planned.About mid November 0f 2001. The bobo went anyway and about halfway to Medellin was stopped and then held by who he said were ELN for 33 days "Credidi pretio parvo emere et magno vendere tibi in animo fuisse!" . 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
