To Learn Salsa in Cali or Barranquilla

I would like to know where, how much and how long ..... to learn Salsa in either Cali or Barranquilla?

I am from UK and am planning to go to either Cali or Barranquilla this october but am going to BAQ in February 2009.

I am deaf, but can learn how to dance without hearing music.

Cali is definitely the place for Salsa......everyone can dance salsa there. I think you just need to walk into any club and ask any girl there to teach you and you will have free lessons!!!!! For real!

Then go to Juanchito....if you have a few people you get to know there. I would not go alone. And then you could dance until morning every night! You will not believe it!

Barranquilla is more into Vallenato, Hip hop, everything....including salsa....

cali better salsa dancers than barranquilleros TOTALLY INCORRECT
being that curramba is the principal port city and most diverse city in colombia , everything started here and improved here.
while calenos were in their middle of the jungles still shooting flechas (arrows) at tigers and elephants in their tapa rabo we were alrealdy celebrating el carnaval de curramba, dancing to merencumbe and driving model t cars.
everything is better en la costa del caribe. The best dancing comes from curramba, ANY KIND OF DANCING YOU WANT, WE DO IT BETTER!!
thank you!

AND YOU COULD TAKE THAT TO THE BANK.
THANK YOU!

I'll get there, when I get there!

calenos started trying to imitate NYC puerto ricans only a few years ago, the late 70's
barranquilleros created the sound which is now modern boricua salsa , back in the 1800's MERECUMBE

I'll get there, when I get there!

Thank you......... I did not know what Vallenato was!!!! Being as a deaf person, I am not very experience when related to music. Dance looks good and very artistic, therefore I strongly believe deaf people can dance without hearing the music. It will not be very easy but very challenging and hard work.

Unless my eyes are bad....I would still have to say that Cali is by far #1 for Salsa.......if only because they seem to do nothing but that......I have been there 4 times....and with many different women....and the only two things they want to do is dance salsa....and...well....you know.

It seems they dream about dancing salsa......that is all they talk about. At least that was my experience. And to watch the regular people at the clubs...there is no comparison. Go to Juanchito and tell me what is up. You will see.

Avenida sexta is the place early......Hotel Cali Plaza near the Viejo Barril is a good place to stay. It is owned by an American guy who is always there..."Claude". And the guys working in the front office will tell you where to go and not go. If you go to Juanchito...you definitely need to go later than 11:00 PM and will need to have other people with you for extra safety

salsa? Cali, no doubt. In Barranquilla every dance move is the derived from the motions needed to have sex with a burra. So if you are planning to learn to dance in B'quilla, you might want to start practising with your local farm animals first.

calenas and their hips are and have been designed after shaking their hips to salsa after 100's of years. That is why they have the worlds best looking booties. Selena spice is one example

hahhahaaa... you guys made my day, I'm dancing salsa since I have memory, from 4 years old I think. If you wanna learn how dance salsa you must at least have 2 of these requirements... 1) any of you ancestors must have latin blood. 2) you like salsa more than rock. 3) you're girlfriend or wife is not jealous. 4) You like spirits more than beer. 5) you never feel shame about anything. 6) you really know that CHARM has serious limits.

there are many good things you can find only in Cali and many of them that you can't even realize that they are AWESOME. I wrote a song last month speaking about it, if you understand the lyrics you probably will see what I mean... from London to the Branch of the Sky (Cali!!) http://www.cintexcol.com/alejandro/antiguas_calles.mp3
