Titiribi

Went to Titiribi for a stay at my GF´s family finca. They say it´s an hour an a half away, but I did it in an hour flat as I love pushing the envelope driving those curvy & winding roads.

Real easy to get to. Take the autopista towards Itagui and go all the way to where it forces you to make a left to go to Caldas (ant.) then go about 30kms, alng the same route to Jardin, until you see the Titiribi sign and make a right. It´s about 5 miles to the town. The whole town is on a slope. so one has to either walk uphill or down.

Small town, maybe 10 cuadras in town, and not much to do which is exactly what I needed to relax, we saw the semana santa processions, sat in the town square and drank beers while getting scorched by the sun. Not a lot of good looking women surprisingly. Went to the only discoteca in town where it was hot as hell with no ventilation. There were a lot of mosquitos.

Almost all the fincas there are extremely rustic with outhouses, farm animals and a bunch of different fruit trees. We went horseback riding, killed gallenas and cooked them, drank a lot of beers, enjoyed the mountain views. Felt great to relax with no whir of la 80.

Only thing I don´t understand is this finca where the dwellings were next to worthless or would cost maybe 8 millones to tear down and reconstruct, and was one notch above roughing it by pitching a tent and camping, had 6 paso finos on it. And they said, depending which one, they are worth between 50 and 300 millones each one. So I don´t understand if they have say, 500 millones in horseflesh, why do they live so poor?? Are these horses really worth that much or is it ask a super high price or is it no one has cash so maybe someone will trade you a finca with an equally inflated value for one?

Titiribíseños (Circo Teatro)

Importante obra arquitectónica que siempre ha sido considerada por los Titiribíseños como “la plaza más pequeña del mundo y la gallera más grande”.
