Tired of this dumb blond beer?

HOME BREW IN COLOMBIA

Very few things I constantly miss about the my culture back home, but one thing that would add some frosting to the cake would be REAL BEER. This blond pilsener beer varies less form mexico to tierra de fuego than coca cola does. So I am just going to have to make my own, nice dark brew.

So my question is does anyone have information or experience of doing home brew in colombia. My knowledge of brewing is limited but we have a brewmaster friend coming down to to help us set up a watering hole. Does anyone know if malt, mash and hops are easily available here in colombia. I am in Santa Marta so would be most interested in finding a supplier in Barrenquilla or Bogota if regular shipping is available.

Thanks in Advance

I would just google search "beer brewing." You can learn how to make improvised munitions from ammonium nitrate fertilizer. I am sure beer making is somewhere out there too!

The red ale at BBC is pretty damn good, if not ridiculously overpriced.

I'm aware of a new microbrewery located in Medellin. I know one of the owners and have visited the facility many times. The brewmaster is from the US and he tells me all of the products used to make their beers is imported from the US. Here is a link to their web site: http://www.3cordilleras.com/
