I recently stared talking with the most wonderful Medellin darling.. she's a total sweetheart. Anyways I noticed her accent was quite diffrent from most colombians I have met for example she says "vos" instead of "tu" or "usted" and says things like "vos sois muy tierno" to say you are sweet. I was wondering why this was.. also is there things I should look out for? I know diffrent coltures (or how ever you spell it) have diffrent ways of being and that's why I am asking. What are columbian men like? are cubans better? (just kidding) is it okay to be romantic? any tips would help.
Thanks!

Olgalucia says on Dec 12, 2006, 11:28: KuBaN She's probably saying "vos sos" not "sois". Just an informal way of saying "you are". I don't know if anyone else in Colombia says "vos", but I know that in Medellin we do. "I am not bound to please thee with my answers" William Shakespeare 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

oswaldorb says on Dec 12, 2006, 11:30: It depends... We called them paisas.. people from Antioquia (which includes Medellin) and with Cali, I believe they have the most beautiful girls in Colombia. Paisas say what they think, they're very straightforward with you, and they are really fun. What I'd do is to teese her, to see if she likes u being romantic. A nice dinner or a box of chocolates do the trick, and upon her response to that, u can select ur course of action. In other words, if she likes the detail, be like that, but not all the time. If she doesn't, u'll have to choose a different strategy.
