Can you send this to the two gringo millionaires in Medellin? They would like a fine paisa but they're in a pinch and they'll take a not-so-fine one too. Or maybe a Paso Fino. They'll really hurting.

Paisa That's been my experience and I couldn't agree more with your initial post. The paisa woman gives up much more than she gains by moving from Colombia (in almost every respect). The paisa woman doesn't want money gracias as she prefers to earn her own.

The greatest strain on the few (two) relationships I have had with Paisa women have centered around the fact that I had more than enough money to support the relationship which didn't satisfy their needs of self worth. Gold diggers, yes they are out there but I have found them mostly in the northern hemisphere. Sure they exist everywhere but I guess I have been a good enough judge of character that I have avoided them in Medellin.

Paisa 29 It also depends on what type of person you are. Quality people attract quality people around them and visa versa. If a man is hunting for recreational sex then he will attract and find a woman who is looking for the same. If a man is looking for a quality woman and a lasting relationship he will attract and find a woman looking for the same. If you meet the guys chasing the woman from Calle 33 you won't be taking them home to meet your mother or subjecting yourself to the risk of their diseases. Those kind of people don't have to be caught in the act as you can spot them a mile a away and keep your distance.

Lionheart says on Dec 23, 2004, 13:00:

I agree on the paisa My lady in Cali is a paisa relocated to Cali and your list reads like a list of all her good sides:

-A fine paisa is not interested in your money, she
prefers to work hard for making her own money.
I once talked to her if she had a desire to stay home with her 2 daughters and I work. She was adamant about continuing to work, she could not imagine living off of my money.

-For a fine paisa is more important your feelings, qualities
and the way you are than your physical appearance.
It must be that way ... I currently look more like an aging hippie or biker ... definitely not what a woman wants to see at her side.

-A fine paisa doesn´t care about a visa because she prefers
living in Medellín.
Or in Cali ... she loves Cali and wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

-A fine paisa doesn´t spend her spare time in a gym, she
prefers sharing with family or friends.
Very true, whenever possible she is with her parents or friends. But she does make a point that she does a 30min workout every morning before she goes to work.

-A fine paisa appreciates more a nice gesture or a little
detail than and an expensive gift.
Yup, I like to make things, those are small treasures. Or simply remembering things she told me months back bring out a smile.

-A fine paisa is faithful.
After knowing her for some years online, there are no doubts about that.

Yes, she is a fine paisa.

the xmas season It seems the season it getting to a few here, it is a bad time to be alone.

My xmas will be me alone at home, entertaining a few listeners on my online radio station, most of them are alone at home as well, and a few others of my solo DJs will be filling in as well while other DJs spend their time with their families.

My xmas highlight will be to spend a few hours with my paisa after midnight, after her kids have received their presents and have gone to bed. We will chat online with webcam and talk about how next xmas will be different. We will see each other and be content with what we have now.

Sit back and relax people, stop giving others a bad time when they are trying to enjoy themselves and relax. I admit, it is hard, but I don't let my frustration out on others.

don negro or spend time with your friends here ... to me most are not anonymous anymore ... many have told their life stories as they evolve and share their love and thoughts here.

Yes, a few freaks and geeks pop up every now and then, but they get tired after awhile. Who remains? Those you can rely on and talk to ... every day and night.

Are they really anonymous?

btw don negro, was that the girl we talked about in chat some time ago? If yes, it was bound to happen anyway. Onward, my wayward son, a new year will bring new girls. But remember my tips.

Lionheart says on Dec 23, 2004, 14:15:

actually not far from an observation I made I think you have to see that as part of the package - a fine paisa can tear you a mighty fine new one. It belongs to the passion and temper you get with a fine paisa. I have heard stories here and seen it happen live ... you do not want to get your paisa really pissed at you ... your sorry gringo ass and more can be in severe danger.

No marriage/relationship is always perfect, and I expect my fine paisa's temper to flare every once and awhile. I will just shut up and let it pass ... as fast as it flares up it will go down again. But the best part follows when making up with the same passion.

A fine paisa will burn you up and let you die with a smile.

You really want to know? Go to a really nice bar, you should be dressed nicely. Have the waiter seat you at a table that is near the dance floor, not to close but near. Order a bottle of J. W. Black, don't get cheep here go for the full bottle, not one of those half things. Have the waiter pour you a nice drink, relax take a sip. Now take a nice new $100 dollar bill from your wallet, wet the back of it and stick it on your forehead. You'll be talking to 3 or 4 nice piasas in no time.
Trust me it works every time.

Damm, it was so freaking obvious I don't know why the two gringo millionaires in Medellin did not think of it! You should never take advice on getting a fine paisa from a taxi driver. Pablo doesn't know a fine paisa from a Paso Fino's behind.

dwmte says on Dec 25, 2004, 19:18:

on paisa fina.............. they're not a rare breed, yet they are an exceptional breed, and i might add, that for myself, they are the best.

i met my wife in hotel inter in 1989 just after the presidential enauguration of c. gaviria. she was the hostess of an art (painting) exhibit at the intercontinental; and as i was living there at the time, and encountered her everyevening when i would finish my days work, return to the hotel, freshen and head for the lounge in the lobby. it wasn't long that i set closer to the exhibit, out of the bar, drink in hand and enjoying her company. soon i ordered drinks for her. and here it is 15 years later. two children, 1) a boy who died at birth, and is buried on the mountain, in las palmas, about a 300 yards east of 'la cola de zorro'. 2) a daughter, 12 years, laura juliana martin de jaramillo. a most lovely child, born in envigado.
una mestiza, paisa/gringo........

well for those fine and gracious qualities which characterize a fine paisa, they are, as you say, paisa 29, and so many many more. just examine yourself--don't be modest--and you will agree.

don negro, lo siento mucho. losing a lady friend is sad, painful and often disasterous to ones balance for a while. be strong, guy, you do, as others have said, have friends with whom you can share. throw the tough front away and feel your humanness and hurt and don't be afrad or ashamed to share with us. those of us who count will understand and be honored to be trusted with your feelings....

a paisa--back to the thread--is everywhere you are. but to reflect the finest and most gracious in the mirror, the first image (ourself) must be, as well, of such grace and stature, etc. what did the old folks always say, '.....it takes one to know one.'

thanks for your post, paisa.

it's important and real to all of us.

Hey don negro , sorry to hear that some broad dumped your sorry ass. Sometime when I feel lonely and confused, I learned this while doing time; I like to imagine shooting my nuts off with a 45 caliber. You ask why shoot my nuts off? Because my balls are very dear to me and the thought of blasting them into disgusting bloody little pieces would be impossible to do. So after I look down and they’re still there, the whole world seems like a joyful happy place where all problems seem unimportant. My point is that as long as you got your nuts everything is ok, enjoy life to the fullest and go get 10 broads to replaced the one the dumped you.
Now I better turn this thing off before my wife gets outta the shower and puts this lap top on top of my head.

but i do agree. so much concentration on things unimportant and so little on things important. the fate of humanity.......

people are so quick to go 'fist a cuff' over somebody's opinion. what's goin on here. weren't we told to hate the sin, not the sinner? (or something like that) we who've been hangin around here a long time don't take some of our brother's remarks seriously. however, new visitors, reel in shock and possibly slam the door. so all of us should temper what comes outta our mouths just a little more. sometimes i think we're dukin it out in baghdad.

peace, ya'll.
