time limits for posting

it is so stupid! you wrote true story without thinking of time. and finally when you post it - you are already out of forum. Probably, it is possible to change something? What is actually allowed time for composing comments?

Long Posts If you are writing a large amount of content, make damn sure to copy it as you compose; if you do get timed out, all you have to do is paste it in the comment box.

heh, guys.... bitching on this subject will get you/me/the moderators, nowhere...

check out this thread in the past. maybe in the search engine above right. nomatter, your complaints, other's 'solutions', will still not result in a modification of the program to make it slightly more elastic, with a set of 'spelled-out' ground rules to go by. hell we been cryin about this forever.

as yet (2-ish years) i've seen no fundamental change in the modus operandi. it's still to brief, there are no set parameters/time allowances, and no stated plan to change it.

so, type, copy for safety, post, and if it misses 'access denied'you can reload and shoot again by pasting and happily go along your way.

microsoft word write on you microsoft word, copy and paste here. Works like a charm, and if it´s that long winded, it gives you time to write in more than one session.

I use notepad Notepad is faster to open than Word and uses less resources. It is fine because you can't add any fancy formatting here anyway unless you know some html source code or scripting.

The time has been extended a bit, Peter has been trying to add a feature to keep you logged in via cookies, but it seems not to work with this message board software.

i keep it easy.... after typing--no matter how long--i just click and drag select and copy. then when i post, if i get the devil, 'access denied' i just open again 'paste' and it's done.

don't have to screw with word or anything.

normally I copy and paste but when I get interupted, which is frequent, I have a safe copy in notepad ... especially when it is to be a longer text. I can continue writing anytime later then ... often way too late to even post it anymore ....

New Window I am not much of a long winded writer, normally only when (Desi winds me up). But if I write a longer post, I open a second window, when I have finished it and re-log on and see if anybody has added something new, that I should add to my post, if not then I cut and paste it into the new window.

it appears that everyone... who has been screwed by 'access denied' has ultimately, with or without help, found a method of overcoming this pain in the ass.

when i first discovered it, i had written for maybe a half hour or forty-five minutes...just writing along, sharing my thoughts, just to discover it had all gone to hell when i clicked 'post'.

now, i have a solution that works for me, thanks to some input from others. because i even entered a new thread about the *(&^%^$$# way it works. (it still works that way).

peace.

good idea Hunter I also sometimes open a 2nd window to see if there is a new post. I never tested yet if I can re-logon in the 2nd window ... that tells me the logon time is probably registered on the server. I will do more research in that aspect. If I find out there is a page/site relevant cookie on my computer I will figure out a way to keep it refreshed and tell everybody.
