Time by Taxi from Bogota Airport to Irish Consulate?

Hi, can anyone give me an estimate of the likely travelling time from Bogota airport to the Irish HONORARY CONSUL's offices at Av. De Las Americas 56-41,Bogotá.

If plane arrives into Bogota airport at 10.30am what are the chances at that time of day on a Friday of getting to the consulate before 12noon? What sort of distance also are we looking at for the journey?

Thanks in advance!

Plane arrives 10.30
get out of plane 5 - 8 minutes
get your bagages 10 minutes (if you are lucky)
get through customs ?? how many people will be standing in front of you ?
get out of airport ?

I think it will be a "tie" to be there at 12.00 am LOL !!

With a Little Luck.... you might just just there. Might I ask why you are dealing with an Honorary Consul since Ireland does not have an embassy in Colombia??? Most diplomatic matters are handled by they Irish Embassy in Mexico. The Honorary Consul is very limited in the act he can do and is generally interested in comercial matters.

Hey Gator Are you serious? The closest diplomatic office is in Mexico City? That is quite a distance. They don't have one in Panama?

I am Usually Serious... Remember the Irish Paras???? Their Irish embassy contacts always came from Mexico City to assist.

The Only Embassy in South America is in
Buenos Aires:

Diplomatic Representation for Colombia is handled by the Embassy in Mexico
Diplomatic Representation for Venezuela is handled by the Embassy in Mexico

as so forth

Irish Honorary Consul Hi folks, thanks for the information, I thought she was cutting it too fine! I now have told her to leave Barranquilla on the previous day and stay over in Bogota visiting the Consul's office the next morning. The office closes to the public at 12 noon which was the problem.

Yes you are correct the Embassy in Mexico handles most matters including receiving visa applications, but the visa application fee must be paid in Bogota! Also they stick the visas in the passports in Bogota at the Honorary Consul's office and that is what my friend is going there for.

GIB Maybe with you driving she can make it in 20 minutes. I know where that address is too, and I have to tell you, I can't imagine making that drive in 20 minutes. But your the GIB, and nothing gets in your way. When the GIB has to go....he goes and be damned any and all that get in your way!!!
