Those colombians living in other countries... will you change your nationality?

And what about you colombianos abroad? will you stop being colombians?

kat1 (Moderator) says on Jan 10, 2008, 02:04:

except in some countries like in Gemany, they don't have dual nationality, there you have to choose.

"Germany debates dual nationality

For four million foreigners in Germany, the dream of becoming a German citizen while keeping their original nationality may become true this summer.

The government of Gerhard Schröder wants to make it easier to become a German citizen, a procedure currently based on bloodlines - ethnic Germans can automatically become German nationals, whereas the children of immigrants born in Germany are technically foreigners. However, an energetic attack is underway - the conservative Christian Social Union (CSU) has initiated moves to stop Germany ditching its nationality laws".

Colombian people can change their nationality. By the new Constitution Colombian nationals are entitled to dual citizenship. If you no longer want to be "Colombian" a quick stop at MRE or a Colombian consulate and signing a simple form will fix that.,

Oh no guys!!! i did not ask if "it is possible" since I myself have other nationality... My question is more related to: "would you decline your colombian nationality, in order to be a European citizen (for example)?" I know you probably answer "Oh no I am very proud of being colombian" (and so am I)... but what do you think about stop being colombian citizen to be a european citizen...

morphus says on Jan 11, 2008, 04:25:

Yeah, its true! Injuns came over from Asia. Before that, nobody was in the Americas. What happened was there was an ice bridge connecting Asia with Alaska. There were big 4000LB bears at the time. Every time an Injun would try and cross the ice bridge, they would get eaten by the gigantic bear. Finally, when the bear became extinct, injuns were able to cross over into North America. Later on, some Africans made it to South America and started mixing with the Injuns.

elmodefoque says on Jan 11, 2008, 05:03:

morph, when I was 4 years old my Wayuu grandfather told me, as we sat on a ledge from way up looking down at the ocean below, that our people came from coconut trees, pointing toward a forest of palms all along the blue Caribbean sea..
A coco landed on the powdery white sand and started sprouting arms and legs. The coconut slowly turned into a fully developed Wayuu as it got darker under the Caribbean sun. We were happy for thousands of years living along the water edge until we spotted a group of Spaniards walking down the beach followed by a nauseating stench which made our people ill, so we ran up to the Sierra Nevada and hid there where we remain.

what the hell is that thing (picture) and can you eat it?

Elmo, it's a zorro chucho (a small one) and yes, they eat it, but I never had the chance to try it. A big one can be like 40 cms. long without the tail. I found one that big, dead in my patio.
But I also found a couple of serpiente corales and a mapanà.
By the way, the house is in El Rodadero, not in the middle of the jungle...
