I am planning a trip to Bogota and Medellin over Xmas and the New Year , Can anyone suggest the Best City to spend Xmas Day in and the Best for the New Year Celebrations.?.
I also would like to find out where in Medellin are the best places to hang out , Bars , Discos and Resturants , anyone have suggestions.?. Can someone please advise on a Hotel that gives reasonable rates in Medellin that is fairly accessable to places of Interest.
I usualy stay around the Zona Rosa in Bogota , anyone know any places in the area that are reasonably priced , I usually spend in excess of $100 per night.

December and up until Los Reyes (not the hilarious TV show) is the best time to be in Colombia. There are holidays and parties all over the place - but having a local makes all the difference in the world. If you are going totally solo stick with areas that are better suited for tourists - Zona Rosa and El Poblado. my main experience is in Medellin. What are you into? I've never been to Mangos but you'll have a great time if dancing and partying is what you're into - also women there will take you home if you buy them dinner and drinks a leave a small tip if you know what I mean. A bit more mellow would be Friday and Sat nights in Parque Lleras as there will be great peoeple (lots of tourists) and beautiful women - there are about 15 places doted in and around the small park, all in walking distance of each other and it is very safe and laden with taxis and close to the Dan Carton hotel (never been to that hotel but I hear it's top notch). jh816 says on Aug 20, 2006, 20:16: Medellin Tour Bus Might not be exactly what you're looking for, but try the Medellin Tour that takes off from Parque Lleras. It takes about four hours and will let you know where pretty much everything is(the daytime stuff. The nighttime stuff, I agree is pretty much Mango's and Parque Lleras). The tour is in spanish though, so if your's is rusty take someone to help translate.

utopiacowboy says on Aug 21, 2006, 22:00: A poster here has recommended a Medellin swing club called Cuchicheos which is just around the corner from La Casita de mi Abuela (where my wife used to eat lunch from time to time). Not too far from the Itaqui metro station. Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
