We had a sloth in the first apartment in Cali, long time ago, I was traveling with my brother and a couple of friends and my brother and I were renting aan apartment on the top of the hill in Juanambú in Cali. One day my brother shows up with this weird-looking animal hanging from a piece of wood, a thick branch or something, ina big basket. He had bought it out on the street. We had it just a few days but failed to make it eat, we tried all kinds of stuff, lettuce, cabbage...but then somebody told us that it only eats the leaves of a certain kind of tree that grows up in the carretera al mar, on the mountainside. So we drove up there and put it up on a tree there...

That La Popa sloth I have pics with the poor old sloth at La Popa, taken last spring. Someone told me that that sloth is very, very old...they wrap that thingie around your neck for the pic and even if it's quite big it feels just cuddly.
