They get what they pay for

Employers here are famous for not paying well. These fools don't realize the downside effects it has to their intake. Last night we tried to order take out to be delivered. We had the recent menu in hand. Our wanted order was "#59" on the menu. My wife even told him what food it was. No luck, he insited that it was an order for a single serving. Not! A few weeks earlier we order the same thing and it was enough for 3 people to eat twice. When we made the order a few weeks earlier, we also had to do the run around to get and additional order of cerdo agridulce.

That was enough for me. I told my wife to hang up and we ordered from another place with no problem.

I wonder how many clients have been lost because of the inability to take a SIMPLE order.

Wife gets slow leak fixed in tire yesterday. A leak so slow she only needed to add air once a week. Flat this morning. Fixed the hole but put in a faulty valve stem. Won't be returning to them either.

We've yet to be delivered the correct order of soft drinks. Once had an argument with one owner when he said 7UP was the same as gingerale. Changed that service too.

One vegetable/fruit vendor that I used to buy my produce from saw me the other day and asked why I no longer buy from him. I told him after repeatedly requesting that my goods be properly bagged (hard goods on bottom and soft goods on top) and having my request ignored, I went elsewhere. He then tried to make me out as the one in error and was visibly pissed at me. His loss.

The list is endless.

Slowly I'm weeding out the ones who don't deserve my business.

hey lowell after about five years you will have a good solid base of people you know you can do business with.....I have places I constantly shop because they know me and not to fuck me around with service or prices.......if they do I will train a new guy that will be happy to get a new customer

Lowell, sounds like you have the same problems in Colombia that most people do in the world, including the states....

I used to go to regular mechanics and got tired of always having a new problem arise shortly after a fix.... I know pay the exorbent price at the dealer just so I wont deal with the hassle of continuing the search....

I have similar issues with restaurants..... If my fast food is cold, I return it immediately and never return.... If the order was wrong after an explicit request, I don't return... The list is endless on my end too...

To add a little balance, some things work quite well. A friend of mine renewed a passport the other day - in line at 7 AM when the office opened (a govt office open at 7 AM!) and walked out an hour or so later with a new passport in hand plus the old one. Cost $85,000 COP.

Now it would be nice if they had a postal system that could be trusted and then stuff like this could be handled through the mail and online, but an hour or two out of one's day for same day service ain't too shabby.

Hey bro, as vicshere stated, weed them out...over here in Italia, it is unlawful to work on your own car (Suppose to be liability issues). 1 litre oil € 18 at a service station, complete wiper assy (Pr.) € 52, gasoline €1.72/ltr (About 4 ltrs = 1 gallon~just wanted to throw that one in there...), Had mishap with the motor of my car, broke a timing belt, mashed 3 valves, but the rest is ok, simple head swap. Dealership to complete work, get this €10K (Probably for new motor). 2 more shops later full of ignorance and wrong answers, I placed my car in the garage to begin the work myself, everything checks out, cost $1100.
You will weed the ignorance out!!.
