I love those who don´t give a 2nd thought that Peter spends HIS money to develop and host this forum and it doesn´t cost you anything, yet you feel like you have every right to call him out in the open to complain instead of a respectful PM to him, if you even really have a right to complain at all since it´s on his dime. I personally have sent a small paypal donation to him and I still don´t feel I have a right to complain. I guess Colombia has made me humble. Try it sometime.

Ads I know the ads are annoying, sorry. It's a temporary experiment, I'll run it until the end of January, then we'll see. I've been trying to make them not show up for logged-in users, but I can't figure out the code to do that..

Poor but snappy

spigrimace Best discussed in the open, then ideas can be floated around, I like
Crazy4Cali ideas 1 & 4 in the thread below, also I am sure Peter would rather have one read or two, than a load of PMs, I sure would.

Why would living in Colombia make you humble?

As far as I am concerned, Peter can paste ads all over the site on every square inch of marketable space.

Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult.

gorgonabob says on Nov 21, 2005, 13:04:

stop your whinging its his site he can do what he likes with it... he could stop it tomorrow if he liked... put more ads up for all im concerned... i'll still be back...

why don't you start your own site... have no ads, make it all free....

good luck to you

vicshere says on Nov 21, 2005, 15:05:

ronald1168 you must be Colombian or part Colombian .....want everything for free and have it your way....I think peter can paste any ads he wants to cover his cost or hopefully make a nice profit all the power to him.....myself I am sick of complying free loaders

This is a free site. This is a free site, and in my opinion a damm good site, the few ads that I must scroll down to read the forum do not bother me (and probably doesn't bother most others) at all.

A lot of hard work and costs go into this website and it's FREE, thanks Peter.

Best Wishes,
Bob

The ads are not annoying at all Some things aren't really worth worrying about. Like the ads on this site. Who cares?

Some people put more ads in their individual posts...

^^UP^^

silviat says on Nov 21, 2005, 20:36:

I agree with the rest of the crowd Peter should put as many ads as he needs to... and more if he wants to.

I think the idea of a monthly or one time fee may sound good but many of the posters aren't making USDs but COPs and then it makes a difference even if its 10 dollars. Also several people in Colombia (me when I used to live there for example) dont use credit cards (very good for them) so how would they pay the fee.

It would just decrease a lot of the posting population...

If in order for this site to go on there is need of ads... well then say hello to the ads and learn to ignore them. Thats my opinion.
