There's a rumble going down, and gentlemen, you are invited...

For those gentlemen here who have written to me personally to tell me how much I personify the things they hate about western (or indeed, all women), or just want to have a go, lets take this outside. Here's the deal. Any hate mail you guys send me by PM, or nasty thing that gets posted here, I will publish it with my reply off PBH, and you are welcome to respond, in public. There are only a few rules:

(1) Try to be logical, post arguments, not insults.
(2) Don't trash anyone else that posts, only me.
(3) ID youself with your PBH id in your sig and stick to it. No trolls.

The blog, which I started tonight with the most recent offering from a regular PBH poster by private message (sorry, Mr Angry, if you want debate, it's gotta be public or it's a waste of time), allows you to post everything you've always wanted to say, but can't, because Desi and Tinto will bounce you. It's an experiment in taking things outside, but still public enough for a crowd to gather round and watch the blood flow.

Hopefully then, we can get back to talking about Colombia, and this talkzone will be more friendly.

Vent your spleen, but not here.

I do see many valid points on CA´s posts. I am afraid many won´t welcome the invitation to take the differences elsewhere because they crave attention and somehow they get it here.

But Ca did what was suggested to many other posters if you don´t like PBH do your own site, obviously you can still post here, but instead of having multiple personalities (Troll) keep just one and post a link to your other personalities.

Scotty take me out of your generalization. (we are bored with you), that expression just reminds me of somewhere else were under the excuse of been "established members" got at you as gang members, None the Less (sin embargo) in this case it seems the same a few males ganging against a female.

The thread from Proud Canadian brought out the closet, or should I said, brought out a few lurkers.

But why is that reaction of hate towards a woman who speaks her mind? And do it a very good way.
Is it because a few men like to play the easy girls? Or is it because some foreigners like to take advantage of a few third world country girls? Or as I understood women back in their countries abuse them so often that the easiest and cheaper solution is to find "p . . .y" elsewhere.

It is sad that female “Colombian” posters don’t participate as often, or jump the ship so easily.

I am glad and thankful to Kat1, Desi, CK, Paisa29, seebeauty among others who partake with us.

Now before anyone wants to act upon gossip or spam, I do as well would gladly take it outside PBH, virtual or in person it does not matter and if feel better sending a MitM, it is fine with me. As usual my contact tab is on.

Personally, I like her posts. As well has being intelligent and in obvious good faith, they liven up the place; spark a bit of controversy and debate. It'd be a dreary old PBH if we were all singing from the same songsheet.

But CA, your jihad on prostitution is broadly misinformed. This 'hooker-as-victim' schtick is just plain wrong in my opinion. For sure, tragically, there are many sex slaves in the world and women coerced through poverty into the trade. But that doesn't really account for the high-end hookers the gringo tourists tend to use in Colombia.

Back in the day, my wife was Reina del Barrio. With her looks profiled in such a way she had no problem getting a job. So she did. She worked in a shop.

The following year, one of her friends became Reina. She too could have worked in a shop. But she wanted, as opposed to needed, much more money. So she chose, of her own free will, without the faintest breath of coercion or genuine financial hardship to become a prostitute. She still is, making a pot of money in Spain.

And the reason why men pay to go to bed with her? Because they're physically inadequate or emotionally stunted? Possibly. But it could also be because the act of having sex with a beautiful, accomplished whore is, quite simply, highly pleasurable.

She is so stuck on guys coming down to Colombia to take advantage of third world woman like she is on a mission or is an addict on this issue..She does have valid points but if she wants to get this across be smart by not attacking which does not gain one inch and she will not get her point across by being that way...

Sorry CA has to much anger built up and needs to learn how to talk to people I don't care if people have a 10 Year Masters Degree you know there the ones that usually don't know how to talk to people..

Stop Attacking CA and you might get your point across

carita are you pressing your movement upon gringos because you have some hope of changing their minds or reminding them of their morals. I can see why you would want to concentrate on gringo's since they usually have some morals in this area. Certainly more than Colombian men do as it is accepted in this culture to visit a prostitute where as in their country it is a low life thing to even consider and would destroy your rep if found out. Here the guys ask if you took any photos?

So I guess you have picked your battles. I can't blame you for that but don't you think it is a bit hypocritical since you are Colombian and should first be working to change the minds of your Colombians who are responsible for prostitution in Colombia not the occassional gringo european sex tourist.

Just think about it please and press on. I am with you as this really needs to change in Colombia it is very dissrespectful to women and destroys lives. But my opinion is the gringo is the most innocent in this. Concentrate on Germans, Italians, and the Dutch and then you might have it in proper order.

The best way to creatively do this is simply to post what they write off-topic elsewhere, with my response. Some of asked for a debate. Fine, you are getting one. If you would like to debate with me on issues that don't have anything to do with Colombia, you do it in public (or what's the point), and you do it in my house, not someone else's.

Sounds a little like a crusader type with penis envy perhaps, lol. CA, I know you make good points. However, as has been said a hundred times before, it is Colombianos that create the demand for the prepagos in Colombia, not the occasional horny stranger. The strangers just pay a gringo iva. Sorry CA, I stand corrected Sorry about that CA. Unfortunately I have to work my at ss off most of the time and did not have nor take the time to do any real in depth research on your history etc. Admittedly, I only catch bits and pieces when I breeze through here. I offer my sincere apologies to you and publicly admit my error of you travels etc. ... oops, screwed the pooch on that one. I really do not think you have to worry, at least short term, about Colombia becoming like Thailand. I have been to both, and Colombia is not Thailand, not by a long shot. Most casual tourist are still too freaked out about traveling to Colombia it seems, Americans anyway. Let's differentiate two things. Sex slavery, underage prostitution and the like are terrible and needs to be prevented for the girls and punished for the guys, period. However, it is a very different thing when you have thirty something housewives working as prepagos in Colombia or 25 year old girls working as factory workers by day and hooking by night in China, Vietnam etc. These girls come up to me and solicit me. I happen to know that there is a whole bunch of freelancers that pays a fee to more respectable clubs to allow them to come in and "hook up". Nobody is forcing them to do this. So let's please make the distinction about the two very different groups. That in fact gets to the point of the issue for me. Stop with the moralistic, judgmental crap you want to lay out there on every guy that has ever paid for it. There is supply and demand and economic motivations, and that is it. I really do not know much about the prepagos in Colombia other than what I hear third person. I have never participated in this in Colombia personally. Although my Colombiana has offered to allow me to indulge myself the last two times we visited. No by the way, no cachos in my back, she is just a liberal soul and she knows what makes most men tick and allows me a ton of freedom. Please separate the two issues with regards to prostitution. You seem to be smart and educated which is why I do not fully understand the sweeping generalizations you make. As for the penis envy, it was just a comment on your aggressiveness in this forum. You seem to have an abundance of testosterone but lack the equipment, therein my "envy" comment. Lighten up. In a way this thing with you for most in here I think (not sure) is similar to an older brother taunting a three year old brother with their favorite toy. You act mean and by god you get mean thrown back at you. Surprised?? You should not be. I like some of your postings on other issues, but it is the moralist angle you take on this one that spurs on your detractors, including me. If I want that, or to feel bad and worthless about myself I will start going back to Church. I for one like the Dutch approach to these types of things. It is much more realistic and shows more understanding of human nature. Remember, none of this is personal for me, it just makes me chuckle how it seems so personal to you. Lighten up, but not too much, you are the funniest thing to blow onto this forum in a while.

Aji Colombia isn't like Thailand because most foreigners (not just north Americans) think its unsafe. As the safety situation improves, so the sex-tourism will increase. So if Colombia is not like Thailand now, the only reason is because of security. When it gets safer then what? Another friggin Thailand, closer to the USA, easier to get down for a long weekend.

And as for aggression, I advise you to read the posts of the many dogs and players here (who are much more muted now than before, and compare and contrast. Especially regarding constancy and logic. A woman who stands up for what she believes is always called aggressive. In men, its called assertive. Or even normal. Go figure.

Cayita, my views on sex tourism are not confined to North American men. Colombia isn't my country. The men act as the will here. But foreigners here are a different matter. I CAN and will, call them on it. The greatest evils happen because they don't think about the consequences of their actions.

It is women who bring the economics into the sex, not the other way around.

Just like a drug dealer is punished far more severely than a drug user, women and pimps should be treated as the 'cause' of the problem.

Shouldn't your primary focus be on encouraging women to 'give it up for free' as they're the ones creating the problem?

Interesting CaritadeAngel, but then again when a man chooses to delay getting married (ex. 35, 37, 38 y/o), Women always say that 1) something is wrong with him, or 2) he is gay. But if a woman does the same thing, she's empowered and her decision is fine and nobody questions it. Go figure that one...........

sinvergüenza I may be the individual she is referring to. I did send her a PM to discuss her offtopic posts in proud_canadian's thread.

So you want to discuss these issues publicly huh? How can you be so shameless as to start your own thread about it? I really don't understand people like you. Or maybe I do but wish that I didn't. What is it that makes you so important as to start a thread like this on what I can only assume is not your own web site. Are you the kind of person who talks loudly on your cell phone during a movie? I think you are behaving in a selfish, grandstanding, self-important, and inconsiderate manner. IOW, just like a child. Does the whole world revolve around you? Maybe we should all start new threads in reply to PMs that have little or nothing to do with Colombia and everything to do with ourselves. Of course, that very arrogant, self-important nature of yours is what makes it so enticing to argue with you. I guess it makes you a worthy target, a tempting enemy combatant

I have no hope whatsoever that I could convince you of anything. And it certainly doesn't matter to me what you believe. Believe whatever you like. I have seen far more irrational or ignorant beliefs. I just think some of your points in that thread should be answered by someone. Some of them *were* answered, but some ideas were left to stand unchallenged. That's just not right. Frankly I'd prefer if someone else would do it. I don't have time right now. I am actually packing for Colombia. At least that's what I should be doing.

I am not shying from a public debate. I just thought it inappropriate to do so on this website. But I guess that's up to the moderators to decide. Not my call. I am certainly not going to argue with you on your own website/weblog. That would be ridiculous.

BTW, the title of this thread is so classic. I am starting to wonder if you actually exist, as a real person, off-internet. It seems almost too much of a parody of a certain type. If it is an act, may I suggest that you are overdoing it a bit?

My fiance is 47 - some 20 years older than me. I don't think him weird or gay , until now, he never found the right girl.

Men have more time than women, some girls forget that. If I waited until I was 38 for marriage and kids - well, goodbye any hope for a family. I think you'll find that guys just have more time than women, but only about 20 years more. So be careful there.

I only think its weird when a man will not risk anything for love. Which can happen at any age.

Carita and JR, There is no question that men have more time. It's hard to say it's 20 years or so. If you really throw out any preconceptions and think about it. There are many examples of men much older with much younger women and it is accepted. It really is, and i'm not too old (37) yet. I work with wealthy men that are 62 and 70 both with 27 and 30 year old's. Yes, they are wealthy, yes the girls are beautiful, and yes it's accepted by everyone that i've seen.

Now, take a 60 year old woman with a 27 year old guy and watch what happens. Women do own the world until about age 30 then it's cliff diving for them. Men begin to take over probably around 40 and believe me, there are PLENTY of women in the states and especially in colombia that are 20 dyeing to date a wealthy older man.

The funny thing is that some of these older women have latched onto the "cougar" thing and think younger men want them as girlfriends/wives. Sorry, that's only for women that are super wealthy, yes Demi Moore can apply. But let's see how long that lasts as she reaches the next 5 years of wrinkles.

It's just how it is.

CaritadeAngel says on Jun 12, 2007, 15:43:

No Liza, but, Well, I have reason. But you are right to wonder. Here's why.

I'm sorry if you find this post too long, but you should remember I am replying to several people at once. And not all are as reasonable as you, Liza.

Its like this. Since Pariah has outed himself I have no problem mentioning his name. He is by no means the first though.

He writes to me with several paragraphs of hate and one valid point worthy of discussion. He then turns off his PM facility. Now, its possible that his PM facility was turned off by accident, but, after reading that he wanted to personally slit my throat on principle I was somewhat disinclined to believe the best of him. So I answered his valid points - and SOME of his insults (omitting the throat slitting and a couple of other comments for neutrality's sake) on my blog and posted the link here. Publicly. And I invited my detractors to come and meet me, in public, but off site (since they clearly want to discuss things which are not on the topic of Colombia). Now he's here, whining because I placed a PM discussion in the public domain. Not my problem. His problem.

The best way to meet bullying is to come right out and tackle it. Cowardice, you see, being the order of the day. They throw down the gauntlet but I name the time and the place and they back out like the cowards that they are.

Now I'll give you an example of Rubito, who is not a coward. Rubito has disagreed with me many times here. But Rubito is a logical, rational, man, so he writes with an "I disagree with such and such of what you said" in private, and agrees that I can publish his comments on my blog if I want, being actually interested in a real discussion. Rubito and I may never see eye to eye on many points, but he has not sent me PM hate mail. He has sent me an argument. Its also clear from his emails he as actually read the substance of my argument properly: not just assumed. He's fairly perceptive, so we should have a good discussion – I'll post the highlights on the blog.

Finally, I don't want to repeat myself. One of the reason why when all this started was that because they continually ignored my arguments (too busy attacking the person) I made the mistake of repeating consistently held views on prostitution , sex tourism, and international marriage brokerage.

The best way is to write this once – my views don't change, and post a link. Those that are interested in discussing the argument or issues will read it. Those who are not will keep on trolling and flaming by PM: incidentally, so far, no more flames by PM. I wonder why THAT could be? Tell you what, I'm in generous mood. If anyone else receives hate mail from PBH posters, forward it to me and I'll pin it up in the hall of shame with my comments. They will stop. Eventually.

Essentially, I don't cast pearls before swine. Instead, lets see how many times the gentlemen sling ad nauseum the lables of leftist, feminazi, bitter man-hater around. So much more fun than actually applying the brain God gave them (I predict further abuse on grounds of religion very soon).

CaritadeAngel I was not aware who you were or what was your ideals or the reason why you were engulfed by several dudes in several threads.
But couple nights ago I got a phone call from a friend who is a member of this site. The person asked me what do I think of you but I was not able to give my friend a clear picture of you. All I said that I know you briefly because I posted few comments and I never returned back to the thread, My First Colombian Experience in Bogota, Cucuta, and Villa Del Rosario.

I have visited your website today and read your thoughts about sex-tourism and I agree with your statement 100%

“I define Sex Tourism as someone from a relatively richer area/country travelling to a relatively poorer area/country, using their relative wealth, or the perception of wealtyh to procure cheep or free sexual services from local women, men, or children. Types of sex tourism include:
“A man traveling to a developing country to seduce or "play" local women, who are not commercial sex workers. (The Male Player).
A woman traveling to a developing country or a standard tourism destination (such as Spain or Greece) with the intention of having sex with local "exotic" men, who are not commercial sex workers. (The Female Player).
A Paedophile who travels to a developing country because he has more access to vulnerable, poor children, is less likely to be caught, and if he is caught he has more of a chance of bribing his way out of trouble (The Travelling Paedophile).
Male and female tourists who travel to other countries to use commercial sex workers of either gender.

Sex tourism is distinct from International Marriage brokerage, or mail order brides, although it can overlap. It is also distinct from people who start relationships, or even have sex, while they are traveling in other countries. The mens rea of sex tourism is that the intention - the reason for traveling - is to procure sex. Some forms of sex tourism are not as bad as others, but they all have two things in common: the leverage of relative wealth to procure sexual services, and a real or perceived lack of accountability. Its equally wrong to do it if you are male or female, but the consequences of sex tourism are particularly harsh for women and children in developing countries. This is why I hate it. The question for my detractors is this: why don't YOU hate it? For evil to flourish its only necessary that good men do nothing.

Here are just some of the reasons why sex tourism is bad:

All countries which have a problem with sex tourism also have problems with industrialised prostitution and human trafficking. Though these are seperate, they often feed into each other.

To feed sex tourism, migrant women from rural parts of the developed world are often trafficked ans sold.

It makes it hard for countries to build legitimate industries.

It contributes to the persistent low status of women and girl-children.

Women and girls find it hard to get properly paid employment in other, legitimate sectors.

It damages vulnerable people psychologically.

It creates the environments where under-age sex and child prostitution are more likely to occur.

It makes things bloody difficult for travelers who are NOT sex - tourists. Decent tourists may avoid certain c0untries, making it harder for the country to market "ordinary" tourism.

Now the cry I get the most is "but its acceptable in the local culture!" or "the local men are worse". What then? Absolution because everyone else is doing it? Tosh. If the age of consent was 12 years old, would these "decent men" who have the "odd shag" with a "consenting adult"
have sex with 12 year olds in that country. One would hope not: they hold themselves to a higher moral standard. As foreigners, we have an extra responsibilities not to make a bad situation worse.”

I also would like to congratulate you for coming out with the greatest idea to build a cyber-arena for debate where the truth can be exposed for everyone to see.

My stake on this topic, I have zero tolerance for those individuals who are trying very hard to make Colombia as a prostitution oasis to compensate for their mediocre lifestyles.
In retrospect here, they are usually the same individuals from the same country who engage in a subliminal or sometimes bold advertising about prostitution here on PBH.

Objectivity. You didn't have to post it, since I have already said this many times here, but I appreciate it. Cheers.

I have never, ever used the term "objectifying someone", Pod, these are your words not mine. Please stop misrepresenting me. The word is clumsy. I don't understand what you mean by it either.

All straight men have looked at women as "objects" (and straight women look at men as "objects" too: the object of my lust, yeah, but also the object of my affection, the object of my love, the object of my desire ... if you are the object, in a subject-object relationship, you are the one experiencing the "subject's" action ...

Right now, I am the object of your annoyance.

Mary lusts after John: John is the object, Mary the subject.

John loves Mary: Mary is the object, John the subject.

As in grammar, so it is in life.

podborski says on Jun 13, 2007, 19:02:

here's my analogy CA (thanks for bringing that post up monpirri, I'm too lazy and a bit busy right now)

First I define my term, in a way so broad as to be meaningless, but also to include innocent behaviour in with the most vile under the same category.

For example:

I define spouse abusers as those people who do not remember their spouse's birthdays or,

those people who berate their spouse withe every word, or

those people who murder their spouses.

Then I go around calling people spouse abusers and wonder why most people are confused and some take offense to it.

Kind of clouds the issue over who the real criminals are and what one's real agenda might be, don't you think?

CaritadeAngel says on Jun 13, 2007, 19:34:

That is not fair comparison What does that have to do with "objectifying" people? Or aren't you going to admit you misrepresented me (again)?

I don't think defining a sex tourist as someone who travels for sex (duh) as "so broad as to be meaningless". I am also not the first to use this broader definition. I fail to see your logic. Just because "cat" normally means domesticated felines, it can also mean Scottish Wild Cats, Lions, Tigers etc. You are not wrong for using teh word cat to describe them, but you do need to clarify which kind of cat you mean. Same with tourists. Same with sex tourists. A term can have several meanings, or several sub-categories in the English language. But then you know this.

There isn't a country in the world that has a problem with "bad" sex tourists, Pod, which didn't have a problem with "good ones" first. After all, there are many more "good ones" than bad. Tourism caters for "all tastes". Tourism is always tourism. Sex is not always just sex.

But we've done it to death here: if you want to talk more about this, come over to my place (virtually speaking, of course).

Colombiche and Kat This thread, is NOT about sex-tourism or any other "substantive argument". It's about cowardice, about the fact that some of these guys are quite happy to threaten and send abuse in private, or gang up in public. It isn't me that's repeating the same old crap. Its them. Don't fall into the trap of letting the usual crap from a few guys blind you to what's really going on. But anyway, this has served it's purpose: it has indeed, changed the unchangeable. No more hate-mail to my personal in-box. Now, I wonder why that could be? Could it be that when you meet aggression head on, the cowards retreat?

I think it will also cut down the number of abusive PMs sent to others as well, since you all know that when you receive one, you can forward it to me, and into the public domain (with my comments) it goes. There, unchangeable has been changed. There's no such thing as the unchangeable.

My only "moral judgements" (we all make them) on pbh so far have been about sex-tourism - that is, the actions of foreigners in Colombia. If anyone else says anything different, they are lying through their pearly-whites. The reaction disproportionate to the amount of bitterness produced by some of the gentlemen here, all I can say is your consciences must really be bugging you.

Of course, instead of gang-banging and throat-slitting, why not burning at the stake? That's the time honoured tradition for ridding your community of a girl...and I'm sure that the more skilled amongst them can even manipulate the other women into throwing the first torch.

Now, for the last time, lets take it outside, or are you chicken?

"Chao", Lucas.
