There is a fee for a Spouse Visa

Some information.....if you look at some websites and depending who you talk with on the telephone at the Ministry of Interior you might go to apply for a Spouse Visa, thinking there will not be any charge....my wife called and was told this and on-line there is some similar information...but....there is a charge.....for a 2 year Spouse Visa the fee is almost $370,000 pesos...after a quick run to the ATM, the process is very smooth....just a quick heads-up for anyone going thru a similar situation about the fee...

why on earth would you think that any kind of government service would be free. You can do a search in here in the upper right hand corner of this page and get all kinds of repsonse in seconds.

...and so it goes

Thanks Radz. I was wondering about this. Did you get your Spouse Visa? Where you in Bogota or outside Colombia?

Yep, it is a charge in dolllars but converted to Pesos the day the visa is issued.

I did get one visa for free from them. It was when I canceled my Spouse visa that said my occupation was "hogar" to say "docente". They issued my new one without charge and canceled the onld one.

Gee Rikito....is it hard being smarter than everyone else??? As I said...was told on the telephone by a government representative and also on a government website.....so perhaps I was naive, but are you a perfect person? I got it in Bogota.......
