Personally I have never had a problem in the major cities, i.e. Cali, Bogotá, Medellin, Cartagena. I do try to stick to bottled water in the smaller cities especially in LaCosta area. BUT I have been here for sometime and maybe I have built up some degree of immunuity. First time visitor and for your piece of mind bottled H2O might be better.

P.S. Watch that ice and in general buy nothing from a street vendor.
