That sounds like a crazy price. I bet Poco could find/build one for a fraction of the price.

Hell no... who likes guarapo anyway. That crap's nasty.

Does it contain vitamins and minerals or is it just a glass of "empty" calories?

Trace amounts, but basically simple sugar carbs.

Sorry, mononoke (by the way and excelent movie from gibhlis studio). But you haven´t been on "la perseverancia", near to san bartolomé high school??

The best guarapo you can find on bogotá, besides of soachas stuff. But soacha, it´s really far.

Nope, can’t be made cheaper than the hand cranked units I’ve seen.

An enterprising individual could make a mobile unit and travel to festivals near large concentrations of gringos.

A good design should use a 1 meter diameter hand cranked wheel with the shaft about 1.5 meters high. One item is crystal clear, gringos all want a little sugar and get excited seeing a bosomy woman, displaying lots of cleavage going round and round with her hand on a crank while watching something being squeezed on a shaft 1.5 meters high.

This locally produced and manned (womaned?) machine should produce a high return on investment by charging a fee and hiring local women who know how to crank cane. An added touch could be the addition of the melody: Moma’s got a squeeze box and Daddy plays it all night.

Store front businesses would be the next logical step. Back rooms with glass viewing windows could be rented to patrons who desire to do their own hand crank’n.

She goes in and out and in and out and in and out and in and out

They sell 'em new and used here in Miami, most of the ones I see on the Miami&Hialeah streetcorners or at the Fairs are Much Larger, Belt Driven and hooked up to a gas or electric powered motor and make fastwork out out of a stack of Cane. Looking at that one in the OP is a pretty pricey unit, any Enterprising Cuban would fabricate his Rig for a 1/4 of that $2000+ price or less. Probably much less,,,

all that when you can buy a large, killer glass of agua de guanabana for a dime. and enjoy it. after a glass of cane juice, i damned sure don't feel like more. i always want more guanabana.

I'll bet this Enterprising Cuban could easily whip a Cuban Sugar Cane Press par excellence with his ability and even an Ocean-going Chevy Truck to carry it in! Engineering learned from the Univ of Hard Knocks! LOL
