The Pending Gringa Sex Tourista Invasion...

From time to time we hear comments of the Gringo Sex tourist but anybody that has traveled in the Caribbean surly has seen gringa sex tourists too.

For example, I was opening a new US funds savings account here in my town... Bumblefuk, BC. And the girl (30ish) told me she and a girlfriend are going to Colombia for vacation in January. She's a single girl and I told her she would be very interesting to Colombian men and I invited her and friend to visit me in Medellin and we can out out together, show off the town etc... If they like I'd invite my paceros if they want to meet some Colombian men. She's all over it like shit to a wool blanket... jejeje.

I see nothing wrong with it for male or female foreigner to visit a country for a little “jiggy jig�? whats the harm really. As long as you're are respectful and what not. Shit I know some my paceros won't mind it for a change if a gringa picks up the tab for good times and the gringas are something different... you know a change can be good as a holiday right.

Anyway PBH members... whats your take on this if any?

One thing that *does* occur to me is how we might see female sex tourists as different to male ones. The notion of the western male sex tourist, who goes to countries such as Colombia to get laid, is stereotypically sad, perverted and perhaps slightly deviant. I think this image is a little undeserved - these guys are only doing what rich Colombians their own age do in their own country anyway.

I think that female sex tourists are seen in a different light - they are not seen as weird, or as "predators" - rather it is perceived as just something along the lines of "girls out for a good time", like Sex In The City hits Medellin. This difference in perception, if I am right about it, is probably grossly unfair - although I am too tired to think any more about it now.

In any case, I have no beef with male or female sex tourists - assuming all basic disclaimers of morality are met with.

And anyone who thinks that a guy using superior economic status to win over pretty young girls is in someway morally decadent or wrong should do Anthropology 101 - it's been happening for a looong time :)
