The new "look" - what the hell! :)

Hey all.

So yes, you must have noticed, we have a new look here :)

The main reason was this: I wanted to display the big ads only the first time you visit the site. To do that, I needed to do some technical magic, and it turns out that with the old look, that was impossible. So I switched to this look for that reason.

I know, I know.. it's weird. It'll take time to get used to. :) Just hang in there for a few weeks, you'll see it's not so bad :)

The BIG advantage is that you will see a lot less advertising if you browse through the website. It was too annoying...

Let me know what you think.

Useful :) useful ads, what a concept ;) For now, you'll only see the ads if you come here from another website or from a search.. As long as you're browsing around on the website, you won't see any ads. It's a test :) If you want to see some ads, just click refresh in your browser, they'll show up then :)

Is there any way you can make a little more space between the topic listings? They kind of run together now and it's not as easy on the eyes to read.

But other than that, I like this layout much better.

logging in It would be nice if logging in were easier. For instance, if the log in boxes were at the top, and if the cursor was already in the first box automatically. This is easy to do, in visual basic, at least.

Slightly bigger text would be nice too. This small text is hard to read on a screen.

Text size You can change the font size in your browser: go to view Text size and just make it bigger or smaller..

Peter Love it I don't know why but I actually like this a lot better. I also understand your need for ads and the fact that you are trying to redesign for us is very nice.

Just a thought... The design is much more contemporary and clean. I like it.

I'd like to suggest, however, that you add "valign=top" in the forum "table of contents" table. The "valign=center" makes it hard to separate the topics. Also, if the "topic" column could be a little wider so the title doesn't wrap as many times.

I like the design of the top banner, but the graphic bars at the top push about two or three topics off the bottom.

RSS feed is cool. (that's still one of those things I need to figure out how to use. :)

Anyway, way cool site!

I'll get used to this but I think the old one was easier on eyes with the soft colors and I also liked seeing the handle of the poster on the top,
