The last minute of your cellphone time on Comcel Amigos Calling Card??????

I seem to constantly be running down to that terrible last minute on a cellphone card. I use Comcel prepiad Amigos Card.

There must be ways, resourceful Colombians know, on how to maximze your remaining minute.

Such as, do I dial and immediatly hang up, hoping the person will call me back?

When the charge actually hit you phone, when it rings and goes into the canned Comcel message, that says please leave a message. Or is it charged when the person's message comes on saying to leave a message?

Basically at what time should I hang up so as to conserve that last minute.

Once you lose that last minute Comcel, does not even let ring another cellphone without buying a new card.

Also does sending a text message, also use up that last minute?

Comcel I could not believe how expensive Comcel's prepaid service is.

in 3 weeks, it must have cost me at least $50, almost double what I pay in Canada for unlimited evenings and weekends

btw, I was hoping to call and get my messages in Colombia (which I can't call from my cell phone now that I am in Canada)

When I call which buttons do I push to access my messages??

Is my security code the last 4 digits of my phone number??

Thanks

Yes, the 50k card will go longer.
Is Ola much cheaper? Movistar?

But the question is about the last minute, guess ring and hang up is the only form of contact when you are down to that last minute.

Text message will kill the last minute, correct?
Leaving any kind of voice message will use up the minute.

It is not always convient to go buy the phone card. And it always seems to be down to that last f*****g minute.

Maybe comcel is a ripoff. Shoul I buy the Amigos card, or does Comcel put out its own card? or is the Amigos Card really owned by Comcel?

More bang for my Peso I thought I'd check with the local experts before starting a thread... I'm relocating in Bogota, arriving a couple of weeks from today and would like some tips on the cell phone carriers available.

Who has the most reliable service for the best price?

All tips are greatly appreciated.

Dave
