The FARC, The Paramilitaries, Colombian Government, And The Colombian Military are ALL GUILTY!

There was much fanfare about the Colombian government killing, capturing, pushing back of the FARC over the earlier part of the year but not much excitement as of late. There is so much hatred toward the FARC, so many people celebrated the death of FARC members, many people in intoxicated frenzy but I ask what is the difference between the FARC, Paramilitaries, Drug Traffickers, Colombian Military, and the Colombian Government?

On one side you have the FARC who works with the
peasants, campesinos, and taxes drug traffickers, don't think FARC is behind the drug trade per se.

On the other side you have the Paramilitaries who work with the
Political Leaders: Colombian Government
Military Leaders: Colombian Military
Poweful Ranchers
Wealthy Colombians
Drug Traffickers
Mercenaries
DEA
US Government

All are equally responsible for the slaughter of thousands of innocent Colombians throughout the violent history that is Colombia but why does everyone focus on the FARC when the Colombian Government along with their friends in the Paramilitaries are as much if not more responsible for the mass graves being unearthed by those who seek the truth and peace in Colombia?

Everyone has blood on their hands, peace is an illusion in Colombia because I have heard too many stories from those who are lucky to be alive to tell their tale.

The FARC, The Paramilitaries, Colombian Government, And The Colombian Military are ALL GUILTY Of Crimes Against The Colombian People

thats a lie, i know real colombian campesinos, and they all hate the farc, they say that the FARC promissed them a new road for the town and they taxed that small village for over 5 years and they never got their new road or anything in exchange, they say they were being used, and they say that the FARC is a big lie, they hate them after 5 years of being in their town, also they told me that the PARAS(which i consider also terrorist) came to the town and kicked the rebels out of the area, then they took over the town and talk to the peasant and campesinos, they told them about the road they needed and the PARAS start taxing them too, but the difference they say was that the PARAS build their long awaited road just after 6 month of being on the town, but he also told me how the PARAS accidentally killed a young man who went to the town to visit one of his friends, his friend happened not to be on the town when this guy came in and since nobody could prove that the local knew him he got killed by the PARAS, but he said that the PARAS in general worked more with the comunity than the FARC which only used them as broken piggy bank.

those are not my words, those are the relates of a group of campesinos from a small town in Colombia

FARC, Paramilitaries, Drug Traffickers = THE BAD GUYS

Colombian Military, and the Colombian Government = THE GOOD GUYS

it's scary how these allegations are so strong against an institution we are supposed to trust. At least those that love spewing statistics of the current administration will appreciate that in the last couple of days poverty and unemployment rates went down (by 23 people to be exact).

Who's responsible for the creation of the Paras? The guerrilas, that's who! The Paras were created by wealthy ranchers as a reaction to the FARC. So the FARC have no one but themselves to blame for their creation!

The conflict between good and evil is an eternal one. There will always be those of us who defend life and liberty and there will always be scumbags who enjoy inflicting misery and suffering upon others in order to acheive their sinister goals (i.e. FARC, Nazis, Al Qaeda, etc)

SUERTE GRINGO post in August 2008 My two week trip to Medellin was rescheduled for a months stay but I may now have to reconsider my travel plans after the festival this coming week. I may have to cut my trip short for my safety. BTW how is that K-1 visa application coming for you Medellin fiancee???

Where did I post that I was an expert on Colombian history I am trying to understand the violent culture in Colombia hence my post.

You always start negative topics about Colombia, There is violence in the US as well, Why dont you go and try to understand GANG Violence in the US especially CA and than let me know your findings?????????

NO one is changing the discussion about Colombia, I LOVE COLOMBIA and the US I also served proudly in the US Army for 5 years, unlike many Americans who havent served in the military. I dont have anything bad to said about the US or Colombia. But like usuall most of the people in pbh just came to Colombia a couple years ago as tourist and think they can change the way we think. There is no evil empire in the US, maybe to those that want to destroy the freedoms and the rights that we have in the states. SO when you called the US an evil empire trying to be funny, think about all those that have died all over the world. It is obvious that no one on PBH has the guts to stand to all of you who always have to instigate Neg comments about Colombia. For what I have seen only SImon and me have responded in regards to this subject, and this leads me to believe that no other native Colombiano cares to defend his or her country from your biased remarks. have a great day, and if anyone is interested in disscussing this while I am in Bogota please let me know, I would also try to be in cali the next couple of weeks.

Mindless bashing is one thing, but digging for the facts, for the truth is quite another.
