The Colombian Mullet
Kind of a funny thing moving from the United States to Medellin, Colombia. In the U.S. the mullet is ridiculed and is usually associated with “white trash�. But here in Medellin almost everyone has a mullet – the bigger, the curlier, the shinier, the better it is! I don’t really get it, since to me it still looks like a ridicules hairstyle. I find it the most amusing when I see business professionals, in their brand new business suits and ties, walking around with mullets to their shoulders. Talk about negating the whole professional look!
My friend got a mullet once, and we laughed and laughed until his hair finally grew back to cover up the object of our laughter - his mullet. But if he were to do that here, he would be “in-style�. The people with normal hairstyles are aberrant.
