i've been accused of only writing negative things. To be fair I will also say positive things about my country, Colombia, in my case Barranquilla, the city I know best.
You get 2,600 pesos to every dollar.
The women in Barranquilla are super hot, Shakira, Sofia Vergara, for example. And when you see them dance they put you in a trance state, all you want is raw, dirty, animal sex.
Drugs, booze, food, great hotels (el prado) and drugs are dirt cheap.
Because you come from USA the quantity and quality of women interested in you is unbelievable no matter how old or ugly you are. I'm both.
You have more freedom for many things like smoking anywhere(I don't smoke) drinking in public, doing pretty much what you damn please as long as you don't hassle others.
In my case having a large family in Barranquilla spread out all over the city makes me feel like I belong.
Although i'm not comfortable telling another human being (maid or "muchacha") to fetch me water while I'm fully capable, I sometimes indulge.
This "muchacha" thing needs a little explanation. Though the maid or "muchacha" (usally dark skin) might be a lady in her 40's or 50's she's referred to as a "muchacha" or GIRL. This is like calling a black man here in the USA, "BOY!". Boy, you do that, be ready to spend a few weeks in the hospital drinking from a straw while they fix your busted jaw.
Getting back to more positive things. In my case NOT visiting and ingnoring while I'm there my father's side of the family, the PRIS PRIS or professional upper class that live in the fancy neighborhoods of Barranquilla. I get great pleasure from telling them that I could not accept their invitation due to an earlier call at a cousins house in "el barrio abajo" a neighborhood of "estrato dos" as they are known in my city or where low life live and where I have the most fun.
I could continue but gotta get back to work.
