Colombia's largest rebel group FARC shows it has no interest in a dialogue about peace by attacking cities' water supplies and committing massacres among indigenous people, the United Nations' representative to Colombia said Wednesday.
"The seriousness of the situation now demand the ending of this kind of activities," the UN's representative Bruno Moro told Caracol Radio.
If the FARC doesn't show "to radically repudiate all activities that violate international humanitarian law and if they don't actively show the elimination of certain practices such as using land mines and the killing of communities" there is no sign they want to advance to a political solution to the country's 45-year long violent conflict.
The UN official urged the FARC to release all hostages they are holding captive and to immediately end using landmines in their fight against the government.

Because the US taxpayers are 1 Billion behind in payments to the UN. Of all the member nations, the US supports the UN by paying about 25% of the total cost. I dunno, the UN is about as useful as tits on a bull and has the mentality of a paper cup. What a waste of prime real estate in NYC too. It's a joke.
