houstongal (Trustee board) says on Jun 20, 2008, 19:25: Which one Billy? The A-F? "It is now official: there's no place on earth where you will not find a Peruvian band." David Sedaris 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
billyb says on Jun 20, 2008, 19:33: No, although he did highly recommend that one, my local shop doesn't carry it. It is the Cocodrilo 2006 i am drinking and Pod came through. I was reading the notes on the AF and am very eager to try it. Have you tried it?

houstongal (Trustee board) says on Jun 20, 2008, 19:37: I have a bottle in my fridge...found it at the big liquor supermarket here. The Cocodrilo is nice too. I was able to find one of those as well. BTW - I loved Harry Sasson. Went there twice when I was in Bogota. "It is now official: there's no place on earth where you will not find a Peruvian band." David Sedaris 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
billyb says on Jun 20, 2008, 19:39: I have heard good things about Sasson. isn't he sort of the godfather of the Bogota gourmet scene?
0 funny, 0 helpful. |
houstongal (Trustee board) says on Jun 20, 2008, 19:41: No idea BB, but you should definitely give it a try when you're in town. "It is now official: there's no place on earth where you will not find a Peruvian band." David Sedaris 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

billyb says on Jun 20, 2008, 19:44: I will deffinately put it on my agenda, as I am planning on stopping in bogs for a wek or so next time in col.

davidm3 says on Jun 20, 2008, 20:35: There's two *godfathers* of gourmet food in Bogota: Harry Sasson and Leo Katz.
0 funny, 0 helpful. |
billyb says on Jun 20, 2008, 20:40: What's the name of his (Katz') place? Also, has anybody been to the Perubian place, Astrid & Gaston( i believe that's the correct name) in Bog, or Lima (in your wheelhouse HG ;)? They are opening a place in the SF Bay area and have heard good things about them also.
0 funny, 0 helpful. |
davidm3 says on Jun 20, 2008, 20:46: Leo has Renault Cafe and Dinner's on parque la 93, Watakushi, Luna on Zona T and beetween both of them Club Colombia on Avenida 82. Astrid and Garzon is located in sixty something with 7a...It's nice, but for peruvian food I prefer Nazca, on calle 74 con 5.

houstongal (Trustee board) says on Jun 20, 2008, 20:49: Sorry BB...never went to Astrid & Gaston in Lima or Bogota. Their website also indicates they have restaurants in Caracas, Madrid, Santiago, Panama and Quito. And soon to be opening in Buenos Aires & Mexico. Hmmmm...wonder if they'll be open in BsAs when I'm there later this year. Pod and I may have to give it a try. "It is now official: there's no place on earth where you will not find a Peruvian band."
