And also thanks to the others who also fought for their country. Only a warrior really knows the sacrifices that warriors and their families make.
I shiver at the thought of young men like I was going into combat without the absolute necesiity. I am sick and tired of this Irag war. Get out, get out, get out.
No more political statements for me. Joe/Pilotguy

scotty says on Jul 4, 2007, 17:07: get out now and there will be a void, the void will fill quickly with Iran, Talaban and Al Quida, they then use Iraq as a giant training base, a center for terrorist to prepare to attack USA, Europe and Australia. Also other undesirables would be invited in such as Russia, China, Chavez, etc. This would open up the whole middle east to radical islam, the entire area would become a threat. countries in the area that are now western friendly would be over run by islamic radicals.Iraq would be a slaughter house thousands maybe millions of innocent people would be killed. the world oil supply would be in jeapordy.. Dan says on Jul 4, 2007, 21:05: Not time to leave yet. I have been in the military for almost 10yrs now. I am currently in Afghanistan... With what I have seen here, we can not turn our backs. Not everyone is a bad guy and the areas that we have people at are happy we are there and driving away the Taliban. I think it would be a bad idea if anyone decided to cut and run. There are explosive devices all over the country and they need to be taken out too.... In May, the day before mothers day, I was in a vehicle that went over an IED (Improvised Explosive Device). Thankfully, I only got a few scratches and the worst injury was a broken collar bone. I have had Mortars, and Rockets shot at a few areas that I was at. And Still, for 4th of July I re-enlisted to stay in the military. There is still a lot of work to be done here and in Iraq. God Bless America! 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Waterdawg says on Jul 5, 2007, 07:22: This is a tough issue guys . I admit that I will have to side with Mike & Joe . After 25 years in the Military from Nam to the Pentagon I have seen a lot ( not all ) .. Smart money tells me to keep " My Guys " out of the middle East ( for any reason ) .. No reason to be there in the first place .

Robert Jorge says on Jul 5, 2007, 20:06: Actually, the killing fields in Cambodia were stopped when the Communist Vietnamese defeated the Khmer Rouge. But, point well taken - if and when the US leaves a job undone, there is a vacuum, and usually it is a real bad guy who fills that vacuum. We need to finish in Iraq before we get out. Anything else is foolish, and will lead to worse human suffering. BEWARE of gold diggers. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Dolfi says on Jul 6, 2007, 01:05: I think it is time the USA reconsiders its policies in more general terms. In Afghanistan as well as in Iraq the former governments where US-allies, Saddam as well as the islamist Mujahedin who fought the russians.

Dan says on Jul 13, 2007, 07:28: I've seen recently that the govt is talking about pulling out of Iraq yet not much is mentioned about Afghanistan anymore. Either way, it's not a good idea, still lots of work to be done. God Bless America! 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
