The point is that instead of promoting war, and (bitching) critizicing left and right, (hopefully it rings a bell) everyone could do more productive things in favor of Colombia.

The F. FARC, has been somewhat of a mystery, now this post makes them very real, they all think they are doing the right thing, this is like the suicide bombers. How can they have common sense? what mentality, I will never understand.
They say they help the poor, but they are taking young kids from their homes, by force and brain washing them. I will never understand this.

I have been watching this videos, they are very interesting to me.

This is why I like PBH, lots of info here, thanks again!

In the oher matter, I believe that the 'kids' (child soldiers, etc) that join the FARC are too young (don't have the required knowledge) to be able to decide for themselves whether to join the guerrilla movement or not. However, 'force' is a relative concept and 'brain washing' remains an allegation.
Overall, my take is that there is a struggle for power and certain factions have been able to use human need (and desire) to promote their ideals. Not withstanding there is a major problem in the social structure that if it's not corrected, then these 'evil' people will continue to be able to flourish.

Las precarias condiciones de vida son la principal causa del reclutamiento del 70 por ciento de los niños de las guerrillas y grupos paramilitares colombianos, según revela el informe 'Prisioneros Combatientes' de la analista y consultora Natalia Springer.

'Básicamente, más de la mitad de la muestra reportó no tener ninguna oportunidad de acceso a la tierra, estudio o dinero. La única perspectiva de desarrollo estaba en el trabajo. Un tercio de los entrevistados, 34,7 por ciento, manifestó no haber dispuesto de absolutamente ninguna perspectiva para el avance económico o social', asegura el informe.

Según la analista, citada por Caracol Radio, el documento demuestra el 'crimen' que se viene cometiendo 'sistemática y masivamente' y que no es visible para la sociedad. 'Este crimen es invisible por que son niños y son muy pobres, la condición social de los niños que los expulsa hacia el conflicto es la violencia intrafamiliar y el hambre, son niños que lanzamos a ese reglón de lo ilegal, esa fue su estrategia para sobrevivir', aseguró.

Para Springer, los niños reclutados 'son pobres y sufren de hambre', y además 'no tienen políticos interesados en ellos, no son del interés del Congreso de la República que ahora está exclusivamente dedicado a defenderse'. 'Esos niños no votan, no saben ni leer ni escribir, ellos no consumen, no tienen cuentas bancarias, esos niños no existen para el país, no se les cuenta', señaló.

Según el informe, el 6,5 por ciento de los jóvenes entrevistados indicó que, de no haber entrado en el grupo armado en concreto, estaría muerto. Un 16,8 por ciento dijo que su situación sería peor.

NARCOTRÃ?FICO Y DESPLAZAMIENTO




El estudio revela que el departamento de Antioquia es el que registra los más altos niveles de vulnerabilidad, mientras que lo departamentos que más han aportado niños para el reclutamiento son Caquetá Putumayo Tolima y Meta. Factores como el narcotráfico y el desplazamiento siguen siendo determinantes a la hora de facilitar el reclutamiento de los menores.

'Las poblaciones desplazadas eran usualmente una población que servía para la llegada de grupos armados y sacaban niños y niñas para sus propios propósitos; ahora tenemos el efecto contrario, desplazados huyendo para evitar a que se lleven a sus niños al conflicto' señaló Springer.

El informe también subraya que la media de edad de reclutamiento de menores es de 12,9 años, e incluso se han encontrado casos de niños que han sido capturados a los cuatro años. Sin embargo, hay un patrón sistemático de reclutamiento desde los seis años de edad.

CÓDIGOS DE LOS GRUPOS ARMADOS

Pero los códigos de guerra de los grupos armados en Colombia muestran que tienen prohibido que en sus filas haya menores de edad. Los tres grupos actualmente activos --las guerrillas de las Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC) y el Ejército de Liberación Nacional (ELN), así como los paramilitares-- 'rechazan el reclutamiento de menores y los tres establecen unas edades mínimas'.

'En el caso del ELN es de 18 años, en el caso del las autodefensas y las FARC dicen 15 años. Sin embargo, las FARC nos responden que ellos jamás en su historia han vinculado a alguien menor de 18 años', explicó Springer.

'Lo que hemos encontrado es que el 45 por ciento del ELN está conformado por niños, niñas y adolescentes, en el caso de las FARC es el 42 por ciento, y en el caso de las AUC encontramos que ellos no entregaron a los niños en las desmovilizaciones, los niños que estaban en las AUC no han sido entregados, varios de los que se entregaron lo han hecho en las desmovilizaciones individuales, no en las colectivas. Tres o cuatro combatientes de las AUC ingresaron siendo menores de edad', añadió.

Según el estudio de Springer, en Colombia no existe el reclutamiento voluntario y una de las pruebas que aporta es que los niños no pueden siquiera opinar dentro de las organizaciones armadas. 'No pueden cuestionar, no pueden preguntar, no pueden moverse libremente ni desarrollar su personalidad, no pueden estar en un ambiente que les permita crecer, ni irse de una manera pacífica', concluyó.
